Flashback
I blinked, dazed, forcing my eyes open as the dull ache between my thighs reminded me of exactly what I’d done hours ago. I was sensitive and sore. My body felt used in the most sinful way.
Oh God.
I bit my lip, a quiet curse trapped behind my teeth. I should have thought about the consequences before wearing that damn bunny lingerie and throwing myself at Hades with reckless confidence and zero self-control.
Now here I was, dealing with the consequences of my own choices.
I wanted to try new things? Yeah, apparently, my body had taken that a little too seriously.
I squeezed my eyes shut and forced myself to inhale slowly. I was already bracing my hands against the mattress, preparing to push myself up, when familiar hands caught my waist. Before I could react, Hades pulled me back, effortlessly flipping our positions until I was suddenly straddling him.
“Oh my God-” I gasped, the breath punched clean out of my lungs.
A shiver raced down my spine as I froze, my hands hovering uselessly at his chest. I lifted my gaze and found myself face to face with him. Hades lay naked beneath me, his face only inches away, those piercing blue eyes watching me with lazy awareness, as if he had been awake the entire time. My pulse jumped violently as his gaze roamed my face.
I stared at him, frozen, my breath shallow, aware of every point where our bodies touched, and of the fact that he had been inside me not long ago, pulling away only when I couldn’t take it anymore.
I felt myself getting wet just thinking about it, heat pooling low in my body.
Without thinking, I licked my bottom lip.
The reaction was immediate.
His eyes darkened as his focus dropped, his grip tightening around my waist in a way that sent heat pooling low in my stomach. The look he gave me made my chest ache, as though I was something precious and dangerous all at once, something he intended to claim without question.
My heart skipped a beat.
Fuck. How did he do this to me so easily?
As if my body wanted to betray me further, I felt his hardness beneath me, pressed against me. I swallowed hard. It wasn’t surprising anymore. No matter how many times we did this, he always reacted to me as if it were the first time.
I forced myself to breathe and looked down at him, finally pulling together what little control I had left.
“W-what are you doing, Hades?” I asked, my voice softer than I intended.
His lips curved slowly, that familiar smile appearing like he already knew the effect it would have on me.
Damn him. This man should be arrested for how good he looked doing absolutely nothing. That smile wasn’t innocent, and
we both knew it.
“Hades, you-“I started, but he didn’t let me finish.

He leaned forward, deliberately avoiding my lips, brushing past them instead as he tilted his head toward my ear. His mouth pressed against my skin, before his teeth caught my car in a gentle bite. The sensation sent a helpless whimper slipping out of me before I could stop it, my fingers curling instinctively against his shoulders.

reaction.
“Violet Sinclair,” he said. “My wife.”
My heart stuttered violently at the word.
Wife.
I hadn’t expected it to affect me like this. I hadn’t expected the warmth that bloomed in my chest, or the way my throat tightened, making me feel suddenly obsessed with just that one word.
“Y-yes…” I answered.
His smile widened. One of his hands slid up slightly, steadying me as if he had no intention of letting me move away.
“Do you know the best way to ruin someone,” he said calmly, “someone you want to take your time ruining?”
The question caught me off guard, snapping my thoughts away from the haze he’d pulled me into. I stared at him, confused.
Why was he saying this now? Why bring this up here, of all moments?
A chill crept into my spine, unease mixing with curiosity.
Did Hades know about Nora?
“What?” I asked quietly, searching his face for answers.
Hades narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze sharpening.
“Do as they do to you.”
“What?”
He didn’t look away. “An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. What goes around comes around. People don’t stop unless they’re made to understand the cost of messing with you. And since they started it, you make sure you end it in the most satisfying way possible.”
He lifted a finger and placed it beneath my chin, tilting my face up until I had no choice but to meet his eyes. His touch was gentle, almost reverent, but the authority ind it was clear. His blue eyes locked onto mine.
“Don’t wait for karma to take revenge for you. Do it yourself, wife. You are now the most powerful woman on earth. The whole world is your resource. Use it. Use me.”
“Hades…”
“Ruin those who want to ruin you. Make them regret even thinking about touching you, about speaking your name, about plotting against you. Don’t just hurt them, teach them what it feels like to be ten steps behind. Use their own methods against them, and make it ten times a

Of course he did. Hades Sinclair always knew. For a moment. I wanted to ask how he found out, when he decided to stay

choice.
For someone so domineering, and powerful, he respected my will more than anyone ever had. He wasn’t taking control away from me, he was handing it to me.
“Just to be clear, princess,” he said, his thumb pressing lightly against my jaw, “if you don’t give them a satisfying revenge, I will step in. And when I do, trust me when I say this, everyone will be destroyed for even daring to utter your name.”
He was right.
An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth.
A slow smile tugged at my lips. If I was going to take revenge, I wouldn’t do it halfway. I wouldn’t rush it. I would make it thorough.
I would make this revenge very satisfying.

End of flashback
I looked down at Nora as she clutched the files on the floor, her fingers trembling so badly the papers crinkled beneath her grip. She looked small like this, stripped of the confidence she liked to weaponize,
All her life, she lied to everyone. She even spread rumors that I slept with older men for attention and money, painting me as desperate, shameless, and cheap. So now, I would use the same method to ruin her.
Nora didn’t sleep with anyone. She had Matthew wrapped around her finger, ready to fix anything she wanted and hand her everything she asked for, so she never needed to trade her body for money. But she had always been greedy.
She had dug a grave for someone else, never imagining she’d be the one to fall into it.
So, I wasn’t going to shout. I wasn’t going to get dramatic. That kind of chaos was exhausting, and I refused to be stressed over someone like Nora. If I was going to ruin her, I would do it properly.
“As you can see,” I said, gesturing toward the documents scattered at her feet, these are medical records. They clearly state that you are perfectly healthy, Nora. No heart condition, or underlying illness. Which means you lied.”
Her breath hitched.
“You lied to everyone,” I continued, “but most importantly, you lied to Matthew.”
Her eyes snapped up to mine in terror, and she dropped to her knees at once, begging.
“Violet-”
“If Matthew finds out you lied about something like that, I don’t think he’ll ever forgive you. Once he learns you were never sick, do you really think he’ll look at you the same way again? Do you think he’ll still play the devoted caretaker?”
“Violet, please-”
“So, like I told you before, choose, Nora.” I said. “Your reputation, or Matthew.”
