“This is absolutely disgusting!” The professor slammed his hand on the table, and the papers shook violently. “What is the meaning of this? How could a student from our prestigious school do something like this? And to make it worse, she’s a scholarship student. She’s already staying here for free, she doesn’t have to pay tuition like the rest of the students, and yet, she shamelessly does this kind of thing so openly!”

His words hung in the air, filled with contempt, just like the look in his eyes. I couldn’t help the smug grin that tugged at the corner of my mouth as I leaned back in my chair, watching the spectacle unfold.

The files on the table, spread out like evidence at a trial, were littered with damning articles, photos of Violet in compromising situations with older men, her name dragged through the mud.

“She should be expelled for this,” the professor continued, practically frothing at the mouth. “Her behavior is an embarrassment to the school. Not only is she bringing shame to the medical department, but she’s flaunting it like it’s nothing.”

The next professor nodded in agreement. “I agree. This is disappointing. She’s the smartest student in the department, one of the top students in her class, and yet here she is, behaving like this. It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it? The ones you think are perfect until something like this happens.”

“Absolutely,” another professor chimed in, his voice almost dripping with disgust. “This meeting is a waste of time. Let’s just expel her. Look at her, she’s not even here. She’s thirty minutes late to the meeting. She doesn’t even care about her own future. If she shows up, we’ll just humiliate her more. The decision is simple. Expel her from the school, blacklist her from any other institution in the country. Maybe that’ll teach her a lesson.”

They condemned Violet without hesitation. They spoke of lessons, discipline and moral standards, as if they were the ones with the moral high ground. But it wasn’t about that, was it? It was about control, power, and a deep-seated desire to put someone like Violet back in her place.

I leaned back further, the smile never leaving my lips. Everything was unfolding perfectly, exactly the way I had planned it.

Violet, that arrogant, self-righteous bitch, was about to get what was coming to her.

A while ago, the meeting started, and already the professors were salivating over the opportunity to tear her apart. The evidence was stacked against her, there was no way she could argue her way out of this one. Every piece of gossip, every fabricated image, was in the files in front of them. Violet hadn’t even shown up yet, she was thirty minutes late to a meeting where her future was on the line.

She was probably hiding away, scared, hoping that if she stayed out of sight long enough, it would all go away.

“I will make a motion to expel her immediately,” one of the professors said, pushing his chair back as he stood. His voice was decisive, as if the matter had already been settled. He gathered the files in front of him, clearly ready to end the meeting once and for all.

Before he could take another step, a deep, commanding voice cut through the room.

“That is enough.”

Every single person froze.

The room went completely silent as all eyes turned toward the head of the table. The dean finally lifted his gaze from the photographs spread before him. He hadn’t spoken once since the meeting began, or even reacted to the shouting. He had simply sat there, studying the images with calmness that now felt terrifying.

The dean was an older man in his fifties, his presence alone enough to command respect. He wasn’t just a dean, he was a

globally respected scholar, someone whose name carried weight far beyond this school. People built careers on his approval and lost them with his disfavor. No one in this room was foolish enough to challenge him.

“I am disappointed in all of you,” he said slowly.

No one spoke. Several professors lowered their heads or looked away, suddenly very interested in the table in front of them.

“I understand that this situation is unpleasant,” the dean continued. “Especially given the severity of the accusations. However, condemning someone without hearing their side of the story goes against everything this institution stands for. Every person has the right to defend themselves.”

One of the professors swallowed hard before speaking up. “Dean, I understand your point, but the student is not even present to defend herself. She is thirty minutes late. Her absence alone proves her guilt. Why should we waste time on someone who clearly doesn’t respect this institution?” He hesitated, then added, “Let’s not waste more time on a slut like

her.”

The dean’s eyes snapped to him. “You will not use that word in front of me.”

The professor stiffened, his face draining of color. “I-I apologize, Dean,” he muttered quickly, nodding as he sat back down.

The dean looked away from him and turned his gaze toward me.

“Miss Nora,” he said, his eyes narrowing slightly. “I was informed that you were the one who brought this information to the school’s attention. You are the one who discovered this evidence, yes?”

Every head in the room turned toward me. I could feel their eyes on me, but I had planned for every possible question.

“Yes, Dean,” I said quietly, lowering my gaze as if embarrassed by the attention. “I…I didn’t want things to go this far, but I felt I had a responsibility to report what I found.”

“And how exactly did you find all of this?” the dean asked. His tone was neutral, but his eyes were sharp.

He was suspicious.

I clasped my hands together in my lap and took a slow breath. “I’m Violet’s cousin’s best friend. I’m very close to her family. I visit often, so I’ve seen what kind of person she really is behind closed doors.”

Murmurs spread through the room.

“She’s not the quiet, innocent girl people think she is,” I continued, my voice trembling. “After her parents passed away, her aunt and uncle took her in. They tried to treat her like family, but Violet bullied them constantly. She was cruel, manipulative, and ungrateful. She made their lives miserable even though they were the only ones willing to help her.”

Someone scoffed. “How ungrateful.”

The dean raised a hand, silencing the murmurs. “Get to the point, Miss Nora.”

“Yes, Dean, I noticed Violet started living far beyond her means. Expensive clothes, luxury items, things no scholarship student should realistically be able to afford. I was worried. Anyone would be. So I did my research and found all this information.”

I gestured toward the files on the table. “I didn’t fabricate anything. I did it because I believe students like her damage the reputation of this institution. I even tried to ask her for an explanation, but Violet refused to tell me anything. She told me to mind my business. Even her aunt and cousin tried to talk to her, but she ignored them too.” I shook my head slightly. “At that point, what else could we do?”

One of the professors turned toward me, his expression softening. “You’re very kind, Nora. You care so much about the school.”
