The slap landed so hard that Natalie was sent reeling, collapsing straight onto the couch. The left corner of her lips split, and the metallic taste of blood flooded her mouth,
When Scarlet saw that her son had finally hit Natalie, she stood in the corner and quietly watched the spectacle.
“Natalie, have you lost your mind? Since you’re so tired of this life, then get out of my house and never come back” Rowan shouted, pointing at her.
Natalie straightened herself and glared at him. “Do you think I want to stay here? Give me what belongs to me, and I’ll leave right away.”
“What can you possibly want when you have nothing?” Scarlet spat with disgust.
She then turned to Rowan and said, “Don’t waste your time on her and just kick her out now. I’d like to see how she’ll survive out there after being a housewife for seven years. I bet she won’t last more than two days. She’ll come begging you in tears, asking for food.”
Rowan remained silent, his mind preoccupied with Roger and Sarah. After all, Imogen was the only daughter of the Chapman family; she had never done a single chore in her life. If Imogen were to take care of the kids, she wouldn’t be as attentive as Natalie.
He wanted to secretly have a relationship with Imogen while Natalie continued to manage the house. That way, no one would get in each other’s way.
“Are you that desperate to kick me out? Can’t wait to make room for Imogen in the house, can you?” Natalie raised an eyebrow at Rowan.
Imogen had sent her a recording of Rowan’s plans long ago. Thinking about it now, Natalie cursed herself for being so stupid to fall for such a disgusting man.
“How dare you drag an innocent person into this when you never did your part as my wife?” Rowan snapped.
“Innocent?” Natalie scoffed, fiercely wiping away the bloodstain at the corner of her lips.”Did you really think Imogen is innocent when the two of you spent night after night entangled in each other’s embrace?”
“Imogen and I didn’t do anything-”
“Then swear on it, Rowan!” Natalie cut him off sharply. “If you and Imogen really had an affair, then I hope you and your mom will get knocked over by a car and die the moment you step outside.”
“How could you be so vicious?” Scarlet gasped. She then called out to the housekeeper, “Pamela, get Natalie out of the house now!”
“I’m coming,” Pamela answered, hurrying to the living room. Scarlet had placed Pamela in the villa to keep an eye on Natalie. Naturally, she had to obey Scarlet’s orders. “Mrs. Payne, I mean, Natalie, get out of the house now.”
Pamela couldn’t be bothered to put on an act anymore. When the argument escalated, Rowan finally shouted for his bodyguard to kick Natalie out of the villa.
When Natalie told Carmen everything that happened, Carmen got furious and lashed out, “What a bastard! He’s an animal! How dare he kick you out when he’s the one who cheated in the first place? This is not fair!”
She then gently dabbed the wound on the corner of Natalie’s lips with a cotton bud. “It must’ve hurt a lot.”
“It’s nothing compared to what I feel inside,” Natalie said. She took Carmen’s hand and added, “Carmen, can you call your friend abroad to check on the situation?”
Now that things with Rowan had fallen apart, Natalie couldn’t pick Sarah up from school in the afternoon, not to mention keeping her company at night.
Sarah would surely cry.
