Chapter 20
Rowan withdrew his gaze and turned to leave.
Imogen quickly stood up and rushed to the bedroom door, blocking his way.
The reason he was showering here was that she had accidentally spilled juice on him earlier.
“Rowan, where are you going?” Imogen wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned close, her red lips brushing his cheek. “Do I look beautiful?”
“Imogen, don’t do this,” Rowan said quietly.
“Don’t do what?” she asked softly. “Last night was my first time. You were drunk, and you forced yourself on me, and now you don’t want to take responsibility?”
Her hand traced slow circles along the edge of the towel at his waist.
“Last night was an accident,” Rowan said as he grabbed her wrist. He lifted her hands above her head and pinned her against the door. “We can’t keep making this mistake.”
“Then let tonight make it real,” she whispered, sinking her teeth into his neck and leaving a clear bite mark.
“For all these years, even when I wasn’t by your side, I was always thinking about you,” she continued softly. “I’ve saved my most beautiful night for you. Don’t you want me at all?”
The scent of Imogen’s perfume was intoxicating, impossible for any man to ignore. With her daring outfit and provocative demeanor, Rowan, still young and full of desire, couldn’t remain unmoved.
She was far too forward, and her kisses were skilled. Unable to resist any longer, he scooped her up in his arms, and they tumbled onto the bed together.
Rowan had been married to Natalie for seven years, yet they had only slept together once.
That encounter had been arranged by Matilda, and because of it, he had always resented Natalie, believing she had conspired with his grandmother to trap him.
The woman he truly loved had always been Imogen. He could never forget her.
Facing Natalie’s stiff and unresponsive body, he had never been able to feel desire. That night, however, Rowan finally knew what paradise truly felt like.
Both his body and heart were filled with pleasure and excitement, because the woman beneath him was the one he loved.
Imogen was equally thrilled. She clung to him again and again until both of them were completely exhausted, before finally letting him go to the bathroom to shower.
It was already past midnight, yet Imogen wasn’t sleepy.
While Rowan was in the bathroom, she sent Natalie a photo.
In the photo, Rowan was bare-chested, holding her as they kissed.
Natalie wasn’t asleep either, and it wasn’t because she was worried about her husband cheating with another woman. She was sitting at her computer, refining a design sketch.
Even though she had passed the interview, the company wasn’t completely satisfied. She wanted to spend extra time perfecting the design sketch so she could show the final version to the manager when she officially started work.
She picked up her phone and opened the message. The photo made her feel nothing but disgust.
Natalie typed, “Give me something real. Men who aren’t a little bad rarely attract women, and a little fling on the side isn’t such a big deal.”
Imogen’s response came quickly. “What else do you want? Something real?”

She felt even more certain that Natalie was pathetic. Her man was already with her, yet Natalie could still remain indifferent.
