Chapter 15
“How do you want me to prove it?” Imogen sneered, thinking Natalie wasn’t as composed as she seemed.
With just a little trick, Natalie’s defenses completely crumbled.
“Prove that Rowan loves you,” Natalie replied calmly.
Imogen gave a light, mocking smile and took out her phone, showing Natalie a short video from last night of her and Rowan in bed together.
The clip was brief, only about 30 seconds, showing Rowan holding Imogen and kissing her with an urgent, impatient intensity.
“That’s it?” Natalie raised an eyebrow, her tone calm and detached. “If I’m not mistaken, Rowan had been drinking last night, right? This only counts as a drunken mistake. It doesn’t mean anything.”
She noticed that Rowan’s coat not only carried the scent of another woman’s perfume, but also the sharp tang of alcohol.
Imogen couldn’t help but feel a little impressed by Natalie’s restraint. Even after seeing her husband in bed with another woman, she could still remain composed.
“So what exactly would it take for you to agree to divorce him?” Imogen asked, losing her patience.
“I’ve already said it. If you can prove Rowan truly loves you and can’t live without you, I’ll agree to divorce him.
“But there are plenty of men in the world. If Rowan doesn’t love me anymore, I won’t cling to him either. I’ll be waiting for your proof.”
After leaving the cafe, Natalie went straight to Jasper’s law office. Carmen happened to be free that day, so she accompanied
her.
“Just having a woman’s lingerie as evidence isn’t enough, since anyone can buy it anywhere. If he denies it and claims the lingerie has nothing to do with him, there’s nothing you can do,” Jasper said after reviewing the photos, giving a professional explanation.
“If I can get a video of Rowan and Imogen sleeping together, would that be enough?” Natalie asked quietly.
“That would be one piece of evidence, but if you want more compensation, proof that he spent money on her would be even better,” Jasper explained. “That money is part of the marital assets, and as Mrs. Payne, you can reclaim it all.”
“Rowan must have already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Imogen. He even booked her a VIP room in the hospital that cost over ten thousand dollars a night and didn’t even bat an eye,” Carmen said. “Natalie, you can go to the hospital and request the billing records from that stay.”
“Okay.” Natalie nodded.
Several of the resumes Carmen had helped Natalie submit had been rejected by various companies, mostly because she had no recent work experience and had spent seven years as a housewife.
But a fashion company called Lumiere Fashion was willing to give her a chance for an interview.
Natalie took her resume and went to the company’s HR department.
“Did you design all of these, and have they been published?” the HR manager asked.
“They haven’t been published, but I did design them myself,” Natalie replied after hesitating briefly.
Rowan didn’t like his wife having a public career. When they married, he made it clear that she was only allowed to stay at home, manage the household, and raise the children. Working outside was strictly off-limits.
But the household expenses were enormous, Scarlet was cutting her allowance, and with Sabrina in a sanatorium, the

monthly medical bills added up. With no other choice, she secretly started working online as a ghost fashion designer.
Being a ghost designer required strict confidentiality agreements, so she naturally couldn’t tell the manager who hired her that some of the popular pieces on the market were her own designs.
Afraid of being rejected, Natalie hurriedly added, “You can test my skills. Give me a design brief now, and I’ll draw a draft on the spot, okay?”
Her tone was almost pleading, because this wasn’t just a job to her. It was her leverage to secure Sarah’s custody.
The manager glanced at Natalie, then stood up and walked to the window to make a phone call. A few minutes later, he returned to his desk and handed her a design concept saved on his phone.
