Nina got in the car.
She looked at Jessica in the driver’s seat and couldn’t help but ask, “What are you doing here?”
Jessica blew out a puff of smoke, a complicated look in her eyes.
“Tomorrow’s the deadline. If I don’t come find you, am I supposed to be the one getting married?”
That shut Nina up. She fell silent.
“I get it.”
Jessica took her to the hospital.
After her wounds were bandaged, they sat across from each other in silence. Jessica looked at her older sister, not knowing what to feel.
She couldn’t quite describe her feelings for Nina. It definitely wasn’t love, but it wasn’t quite hate either.
But Nina’s existence had indeed made her and her mother a laughingstock, and she had done many things to hurt Nina over the years.
But seeing Nina in such a miserable state, messed up by someone else, actually made her feel a bit irritated.
Only she was allowed to bully Nina.
Looking at Nina’s pale face, Jessica frowned, stood up, and handed her a USB drive.
Nina saw the USB drive in her palm and looked at Jessica in confusion. “What is this?”
The pain in her ten fingers was still excruciating, and Nina’s face was pale.
Jessica saw her like this and curled her lip. “You idiot. Did you really think Isabelle saw you as a sister? You’re unbe- lievably stupid. Her heart condition was cured a long time ago! This is all the dirty stuff she’s done. Consider it my compensation to you for all these years. Now I don’t owe you anything anymore.”
Her tone was irritated, but Nina could tell she was concerned about her.
The USB drive in her hand suddenly felt as heavy as lead.
She plugged the USB drive into her computer, and when she saw what was on it, her face instantly turned pale.
Nina’s lips trembled. “She… she could actually do something like this.”
Jessica looked disdainful. “People like her only care about saving themselves. They don’t care who dies.”

It’s true Isabelle had a heart condition, but she’s already been cured.

The White family funded orphanages in many cities, went to great lengths to find a girl who was a match for Isabelle, and then… they took that girl’s heart. A living, breathing person was gone just like that.
It seems Isabelle faked her death this time, too.
Nina clutched the USB drive in her hand and sent the evidence to her lawyer. People who do evil must be punished.
Nina looked up at Jessica and said softly, “Jessica, thank you.”
Jessica awkwardly turned her head away. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I just don’t want to owe you anything.”
As she spoke, she pulled something out from behind her back.
Nina took a closer look and saw it was a photo of her and her mom!
Joy instantly flooded her heart, a smile dancing in her eyes. She looked at Jessica, pleasantly surprised.
Seeing her so happy, the gloom on Jessica’s brow gradually faded.
“Back then, I did want to bully you, but I also knew this was the only photo your mom left you. I made a copy. The one I smashed was the copy. This is the original.”
A wave of emotion washed over her.
Nina took the photo with trembling hands, clutching it tightly to her chest, her eyes glistening with tears.
She thought she would never see the keepsake her mother left her again in this lifetime, but she never expected to get it back so soon.
“Thank you, Jessica.”
Jessica turned her head away. “I transferred a million dollars to your account. Dad wouldn’t give you a dowry. But you’re going in my place, so I’m giving this to you.”
With that, Jessica strode away, looking like she was desperately trying to escape.
Nina watched her retreating back, stunned for a long moment.
The one good thing was, she could finally leave Sean.
As night fell, a respectful, middle–aged man in black knocked on Nina’s hospital room door.
“Ms. Collins, Mr. Bronner sent me to pick you up.”
Nina nodded.
After getting into the car, she stared out the window at the receding scenery, feeling dazed.
She was finally leaving.
