When Time Tried to Heal Me But I Refused to Listen by Kael Niro Senn 373
Chapter 373 I’m Looking For Someone
In the living room, a servant stared at Danielle, looking lost. “Ms. Nicole, I don’t really know who let her in.”
All the new servants had been handpicked by Irene for Adriana. But there were still some old servants at the Barton Estate who had not been dismissed. There was no doubt it was one of those old servants who let Danielle in.
“You’re Grandpa’s granddaughter, and so am I. Everything at the Barton Estate should be partly mine, too. Why is it you can come in but I can’t?” Danielle let out a cold laugh and set down her coffee cup.
Adriana sat across from Danielle, looking at her coldly. “Throw away anything she’s used, including that cup.”
The Adriana of today was nothing like the pitiful girl who used to be pushed around.
“Adriana!” Danielle clenched her fists and glared at Adriana in anger.
She couldn’t stand the way Adriana acted. She used to be so meek, but now she was putting on airs, acting as if she were a real heiress.
“Do you know why, even though we’re both Grandpa’s granddaughters, I get everything and you have to live like a stray? It’s because your father’s origins are shady and disgraceful. That’s why Grandpa never accepted you as his granddaughter.” Adriana looked Danielle straight in the eye, her gaze full of challenge.
Danielle squeezed her hands so hard her knuckles turned white.
She took a deep breath and finally spoke. “Adriana, you’re nothing but a loser who grew up in an orphanage. All you ever learned was design. You can draw blueprints, but that’s it. Do you even know how to run a company? Do you know how a corporation actually operates? Can you lead thousands or tens of thousands of people and make sure they have jobs?”
Danielle was deliberately provoking Adriana.
Adriana smiled. “At least I can draw blueprints. As for you, it looks like you’ve run out of inspiration.”
Adriana kept pushing Danielle, determined to throw her off her game before the design competition.
“Adriana! Don’t think you’re so great just because you studied abroad in Pastalia. I’ll bear you in the upcoming design competition. You’ll see. Danielle snorted, looking just as confident.
The Sleepless Kin… By day, she is a forest nymph. By night, she is the Nightlark, whose haunting son…
Adriana nodded. She glanced at the butler, Arthur, who had just come in. “From now on, don’t let anyone in unless I approve it.”
Adriana then instructed Arthur to show Danielle out.
Arthur looked troubled as he said, “Ms. Nicole… Ms. Danielle, she… Mr. Justin agreed to let her in.”
Adriana froze for a moment and frowned as she looked at Danielle.
Danielle leaned back on the sofa, looking proud of herself. “Adriana, so what if you inherited everything? Grandpa gave the estate and Justin to you as a package deal. The inheritance isn’t complete without both. If you can’t marry Justin, you’ll never win over the people at Barton Group.”
Danielle laughed at how Jeremy thought he could anticipate everything but failed to account for the complexity of human nature.
Justin and the other assets were tied together as part of the inheritance.
If Adriana couldn’t marry Justin, she would never win the loyalty of the Barton Group’s employees. So right now, on the surface, it looked like Adriana called the shots in the Bartons. But the real person in power was still Justin.
Adriana stood up, clearly upset, and looked at Justin as he came down the stairs. “Justin, did you let her in?”
Justin came down, calm as ever, and nodded. “Yeah, is there a problem?”
Adriana huffed and walked away, while Danielle felt like she had scored a win.
Danielle looked at Justin with a grin. “Justin, you really are the one calling the shots at the Bartons now.”
Justin sat off to the side, indifferent to everything. “You said you know where Susan is. Tell me. If you get even one thing wrong, you’ll never set foot in the Barton Estate again.”
Danielle glanced at Justin with a hint of jealousy then quickly sat down and smiled. “I tracked down the orphanage’s kitchen worker from before the fire. She knows where Susan is. She said Susan was adopted by another couple and taken to Hearthwick.”
Justin looked at Danielle. “And then?”
“Then, Susan changed her name. She goes by Tamara Sinclair now.” Danielle pulled out some documents from her bag and handed them to Justin.
This was Danielle and Savannah’s plan. No matter what, they needed to use a fake to keep

Justin distracted.
“Tamara Sinclair, is it? I’ll have someone check her identity.” Justin looked at the girl in the photo, speaking slowly and calmly.
“Don’t forget what you promised me,” Danielle spoke excitedly.
Justin nodded. “Don’t worry. If this really is the person I’m looking for, I’ll grant your request.”
Danielle stood up happily, the corners of her mouth lifted. “Then I’ll wait for your good
news.”
Danielle was very confident, because the couple who adopted Susan had died years ago. Some told her that after they died, Susan’s adopted daughter was sent to her foster mother’s brother, who became Tamara’s adoptive father.
Everything lined up. As long as Tamara could vaguely recall growing up in the orphanage, she could definitely fool Justin.
After Danielle left, Adriana came out of the bedroom.
“Why did you suddenly let her in?” Adriana had just played along with Justin’s act because she wanted to see what he was planning.
“I’m looking for someone, and she found them for me. That’s her reward.” Justin smiled faintly.
