Curtis snorted with a grim expression. “We haven’t made up.”
He wouldn’t easily forgive Gary.
But the two had no real grudges, so it didn’t prevent cooperation.
After all, they were family.

Ronan coughed awkwardly. Uncles and nephews just shouldn’t be too close in age, or the nephew would lack that sense of respect for an elder.
Gary and Curtis were the type who couldn’t stand each other but still cared about each other when it mattered.
“As long as you trust him, I’ll get started on the arrangements.” Ronan looked at Curtis.
Curtis nodded. “His personality may suck, but he’s trustworthy.”
Ronan’s lips twitched. Curtis had some nerve talking about someone else’s personality.
“Has Matthew been keeping an eye on the Sunrise Project back home? Get Ainsworth Group to compete for it too.” Curtis said in a low voice.
This was to warn Matthew in Pastalia to stay away from his wife.
Ronan stifled a laugh. “Yes, Mr. Lincoln.”
…
At the Langford Estate, Raymond was at home discussing matters with Rex and Natasha.
“We probably can’t compete with Ainsworth Group for this project. Ainsworth Group has been growing too fast. Why do we have to compete with them?” Natasha and Rex still didn’t quite understand.
There were plenty of other projects. Why did they have to go against Ainsworth Group?
Wouldn’t it be better to avoid going head–to–head with them?
“What do you know? Ainsworth Group hasn’t just been growing fast these past few years–the people behind them are even more mysterious. If we don’t force them out first, they’ll definitely become a threat later.” Raymond said calmly.

They were going to push Ainsworth Group into a corner with no way out, then force the capital backers behind them to make a move.
That way, they could find out who was really backing Ainsworth Group.
“Mr. Raymond, our people deliberately made things difficult for Ainsworth Group’s Westside Museum project. The venue and contractors all gave them trouble, and someone stepped in.” An assistant rushed in and said softly.
A flash of triumph crossed Raymond’s eyes as his lips curved up. “Did you brief everyone in advance? Who stepped in to help Ainsworth Group?”
“They say… it was someone from the Harrisons.” The assistant quickly replied.
Raymond’s hand holding the teacup trembled, nearly dropping it.
The Harrisons?
“Didn’t you ask which Harrison?” It took Raymond a while to recover.
“Gary Harrison, the Harrison heir.”
Raymond looked thoughtful. It took him a long time before he set down his teacup. “I see. You can go now.”
Gary was Curtis’s uncle.
Gary was the Harrison heir and the one steering Harrison Capital. He certainly had the ability to secretly establish Ainsworth Group.
Gary definitely had the capability.
“Gary? He actually had the energy to secretly establish Ainsworth Group. This guy’s ambitions really aren’t small.” Natasha was also quite surprised.
“Are we still going after Ainsworth Group?” Rex asked.
Raymond took a sip of tea. “Harrison Capital’s strength isn’t to be underestimated. Since Ainsworth Group belongs to Gary… I need to check in.”
He got up and went to the side, making a phone call. “Mister, we found out. It’s very likely Gary.”
The other end of the line was silent for a moment before speaking, “I’ll verify it. If it really Gary, then we don’t need to keep such a close watch for now.”

Raymond nodded obsequiously. “Yes, yes, yes.”

Gary was a retired military man. To the capital players, he just had a prestigious family and the Harrisons backing him–not enough to be scary.
But if Ainsworth Group was really something he secretly created, it meant this person wasn’t as simple and harmless as he appeared on the surface.
“We don’t need to watch Ainsworth Group so closely for now.” After hanging up, Raymond looked at Natasha.
Natasha didn’t quite understand. If it really was Gary, then the Harrisons‘ ambitions were no weaker than Curtis’s had been back then. Why not take this opportunity to eliminate Gary too?
“Raymond, Gary seems to have no major moves on the surface, but secretly he’s created Ainsworth Group and completely shifted his focus from Harborton to Haldoria. This is eating into our piece of the pie. You hated Curtis so much back then. Why are you not worried when it comes to Gary?” Natasha looked at Raymond in confusion.
Raymond sat on the couch and snorted. “You’re thinking about this too simply. It’s not that we’re not moving, it’s just that…”
Raymond looked at Natasha meaningfully and smiled, not continuing his sentence. “Alright, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you. In any case, Mister has his own plans. Just do as I
your future achievements won’t be any less than Curtis’s.” say, and
Rex looked at Natasha excitedly and quickly said with a smile, “Dad, does that mean I’ll be able to crush Matthew under my foot in the future? That ambitious wolf even dared to scheme against his own father.”
Natasha’s expression shifted. She sat to the side without speaking.
After all, she did love Matthew. Although there was calculation involved too, she knew clearly that Matthew was someone a hundred times stronger than Rex. How could a useless person like Rex even compare to him?
However, profit came first. She really did need to make good use of Raymond and the power behind him to pull the Joneses out of the mud.
