I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 93

Chapter 93

Beneath the video, the person on the other end sent Vivian a message.

“Ms. Hartwell, Mr. Shaw asked whether you’re satisfied with what happened to Zane.”

Vivian replied, “Whether I’m satisfied doesn’t matter. As long as Mr. Shaw is satisfied.”

He didn’t respond after that.

Victor probably wasn’t satisfied. After all, his only daughter had suffered for three years because of what had happened.

Zane probably wouldn’t be able to attend Logan’s wedding tomorrow.

Vivian didn’t want to think about what happened to Zane after tonight. She had another battle to fight tomorrow.

After she washed up, Vivian lay in bed. Her thoughts were a mess, but her mind stayed painfully awake.

Even when the night outside the window slowly turned into a hazy gray, she still couldn’t fall asleep. By the time the makeup artist knocked on her door, she hadn’t slept at all.

Logan had gotten drunk last night, and Jack had arranged for him to stay in a room downstairs.

The makeup artist had woken Logan up early, too. The first thing he did after he opened his eyes was call Vivian. He knew he had gone too far yesterday and hadn’t contacted her at all.

Now that he was sober, he needed to pacify her.

The video call connected. Vivian was sitting at her vanity, letting the stylist work on her hair and makeup.

“Vivi…”

Logan smiled as he watched Vivian sit there quietly, the stylist fussing over her beautiful face.

“You look beautiful today.”

Vivian smiled back, hiding the mockery in her eyes.

“Do I? Thanks. Starting today, I’ll always be this beautiful.”

Logan’s eyes softened, his tone turning gentle. “To make sure you stay this beautiful, I promise I’ll work hard and take care of you. I’ll make you the happiest woman in the world.”

“Okay,” she said casually, with no excitement and no emotion.

“Your mom should be busy downstairs. After you’re done, go help her greet the guests. I’ll come out when it’s time for the ceremony.”

Logan smiled and agreed. “Alright.”

Diana had waited all night for good news from Zane. But he refused to send the video. He just answered her call and assured her everything had been handled. Only then did she finally relax.

Early that morning, Diana rushed to the hotel and started greeting the guests.

When Logan came downstairs, Diana was surrounded by relatives, smiling brightly.

Noticing Logan scanning the crowd, Diana walked over and said quietly, “Don’t worry. Sloane isn’t here. I’ve already made arrangements for her. She’s sensible. She won’t come and make a

scene.”

Logan finally relaxed and nodded. “Thanks, Mom. You’ve worked hard these past few days.”

Diana smiled brightly. “Why are you being polite with me? As long as you’re happy, I’ll do anything for you.”

She glanced behind him and asked, “Why hasn’t Vivian come down yet?”

“She’s still getting her hair and makeup done,” Logan said. “She’ll come down when the ceremony starts.”

A mocking smile tugged at Diana’s lips. “Giving her more time to calm down is fine.”

Vivian was probably still trying to cover up the hickeys, refusing to let them notice.

Diana had already planned her opening remarks for the ceremony. If Vivian refused to sign the Whitfield Group share transfer agreement, then she would expose everything that happened last night.

In front of everyone, Vivian would have no choice but to comply.

Once all the company’s assets were under Logan’s name, Vivian would never be able to stir trouble again.

After her grandson was born, he would be raised by Logan.
