I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 74

Chapter 74

Logan had just driven up to the entrance of Southgarden Residences when he was stopped. Throughout the inspection, his expression remained cold.

He was taken to the hospital for a blood test. Fortunately, he hadn’t drunk that much that night and hadn’t crossed the legal threshold for drunk driving. In the end, he was punished with a six–month suspension of his driver’s license and a fine.

Earlier, when he had stated his identity, the police officers‘ reactions had been indifferent. It was as if they had already known who they were checking.

Jack arrived to pick Logan up and paid the fine. Logan walked out of the police station with a dark expression. The moment he got into the car, he instructed in a cold voice, “Check if someone reported me.”

Jack nodded. “Got it.”

Staring out the window with a grim expression and a frown, Logan spoke again. “Forget it.”

Jack was puzzled but didn’t ask questions. Logan withdrew his gaze from the window and rubbed his temples. He instructed, “Have someone keep an eye on Vivian. I want to know everything she does over the next few days.”

Jack asked, “Do you think Ms. Hartwell reported you to the police?”

If it were to stop Logan from bothering her again, it was something Vivian might do. She knew him too well. She knew he would never humble himself or plead with her in front of outsiders.

Jack didn’t get an answer and didn’t press further. He drove in silence, though internally, he became even more determined to resign as soon as possible.

This time, Jack didn’t ask Logan where the latter wanted to go. Instead, he drove straight back to Southgarden Residences.

When they arrived at the entrance, Jack parked the car and opened the door. He said, “Mr. Whitfield, we’re here.”

Logan, who had been resting with his eyes closed the entire ride, opened them. When he realized where they were, his gaze turned cold.

These days, the people around him no longer asked where he wanted to go. They simply brought him to Sloane’s place. It was as though this was now where he stayed. He sat in the car with a dark expression and didn’t get out right away.

“What’s wrong, Mr Whitfield?” Jack couldn’t help asking.

Logan couldn’t answer. Expressionless, he finally got out of the car.

In the apartment, Sloane and Diana were both still awake. Seeing Logan return, they hurried over. Diana clearly disliked how clingy Sloane was. Pulling a long face, Diana stepped forward to take Logan’s coat and edged Sloane aside.

“You’re pregnant. Don’t get so worked up. Lie down,” said Diana.

Sloane could only stand quietly to the side and look at Logan sadly. However, instead of looking at her, he went straight to the bedroom. Upon seeing that, she quickly followed him. As she entered, she locked the door behind her.

“Logan…” Just as she tried to get close to him, the sound of someone twisting the doorknob came from outside.

Diana realized that the door was locked and raised her hand to knock. Grinding her teeth, Sloane had no choice but to open it.

Diana stood at the door holding a glass of water. She glared at Sloane and questioned, “Why did you lock the door?”

Sloane bit her lip and answered softly, “Mrs. Whitfield, Logan and I need some privacy, too.”

With a cold expression, Diana said, “You’re pregnant. There’s nothing you can do right now anyway. What privacy do you need? Watch your stomach. Don’t get carried away.”

Diana shot Sloane a sharp look and walked toward Logan. She said, “Logan, I brought you a glass of water. Drink it and get some rest.”
