Chapter 60
After Connor left, Stella had no interest in lingering. She said a quick goodbye to Vivian and drove off, completely ignoring Logan.
Logan kept a tight expression as he exchanged a few polite words with the remaining business partners, then walked over to Vivian.
As Stella drove by, she glanced over and waved Vivian goodbye.
Logan’s face darkened as Stella ignored him outright. He turned to Vivian and said flatly, “Stay away from her.”
Vivian cast him a sidelong glance. “My social life isn’t something you get to manage, Mr. Whitfield. You should worry about your own.”
With that, she turned and headed for her car.
Logan suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist. “You’ve been drinking. You shouldn’t be driving. Get in my car. I will take you back.”
Vivian lowered her eyes and glanced at the wrist that was already turning red. She pried his fingers off one by one. “No, thanks. I would feel sick sitting in a car that reeks of other women.

The few business partners who hadn’t yet left all wore awkward expressions.
Logan’s gaze darkened slightly, but he didn’t want to damage his public image. He forced a smile and said, “Vivian, you’re imagining things again. I just had the car cleaned. How could there be traces of other women?”
Vivian let out a cold laugh. “Oh, so you cleaned it on purpose because you were afraid I would notice?”
Logan fell silent.
Guilt flickered through him, and with the alcohol clouding his head, his thoughts stalled for a
moment.
Vivian’s beautiful eyes swept over him briefly. She bent down, got into her car, and locked the door.
Irritation flared in Logan, keeping him rooted in place as she walked away.
He leaned against her car window and whispered, “Vivian, with everyone watching, do you

really have to make me look bad? I’m a man with business to deal with. You don’t have to humiliate me like this…”
Vivian replied coolly, “Respect is something you earn, not something others give you. Besides, no one asked you to be here today, did they?”
Logan’s face darkened as anger surged through him.
After seven years together, Vivian knew his temperament far too well. She knew exactly where to stab to make it hurt.
With him so easily provoked and all his emotions laid bare, Vivian smirked in satisfaction and rolled up the car window.
He lifted his hand as if to smash the glass, but one of the partners saw things getting out of hand and stepped in. “Mr. Whitfield, don’t be rash. Ms. Hartwell is very capable. It’s normal for her to have a bit of a temper.”
“Exactly,” another added.
Vivian started the car and passed Logan without looking back. From the rearview mirror, she gave him a brief glance. He was flustered and furious, but she stayed utterly indifferent.
Somewhere along the way, the once humble and courteous Logan had been consumed by money, lust, and alcohol, leaving none of the gentle, refined man he had once been.
Maybe this was fate’s way of showing her who Logan really was. The more he flailed and lost his temper, the less she was drawn to him, and the easier it became to walk away.
She stayed calm through his betrayal and woke up through the pain.
Logan stood there, watching her car disappear into the distance. After a long silence, much of
his drunkenness had faded.
Someone next to him was still trying to reason with him. “She just needs a little cajoling,
that’s all.”
Logan frowned, and a trace of helplessness flashed in his eyes.
Vivian had left without the slightest hesitation. For reasons he couldn’t explain, he suddenly had the unsettling feeling that no matter what he did for the rest of his life, he would never be able to win her back.
Zane and the others came out of the restaurant and took in the scene before them. Naturally, they pushed through the group of business partners and gathered around Logan.
“Logan, you and Vivian have been together for so many years. You should know her
