I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 58

Chapter 58

Logan still managed to catch up to them before Kingston got into the car.

He tried his best to steady his steps, but he was still swaying a little.

“Mr. Howard.” He called out to Kingston.

Kingston stopped and turned to look at him.

Logan walked up to Kingston and extended his hand. The expression on his face was no longer as arrogant as when he had been dealing with the other business partners earlier.

“Mr. Howard, you may not know this, but Vivian’s been busy preparing for our wedding lately. So, she’s hardly been at the company. I can come by personally tomorrow to sign the contract with you. From now on, you can contact me for all matters concerning Whitfield Group,” Logan said.

As he spoke, he took out his phone to add Kingston’s contact information.

Kingston stood calmly in front of him, his steadiness contrasting sharply with how much Logan was swaying.

He said evenly, “Mr. Whitfield, you’ve had too much to drink. Let’s talk about work another day. I’ll definitely be signing the contract with Ms. Hartwell. As for Whitfield Group’s affairs going forward, I will, of course, be in touch with you.”

Jack had already received Vivian’s message at the beginning of the dinner and rushed over. He had been waiting in the car, standing by for her instructions.

Vivian gave him a look, and he stepped forward to support Logan.

Logan immediately shook Jack off.

He said forcefully, “I’m not drunk. Mr. Howard, I’m not drunk. I’m perfectly sober. Right now, Whitfield Group is…‘

Before Logan could finish his sentence, Kingston bent down and got into the car.

Logan tried to grab him, but Theo closed the car door, blocking Logan. “Mr. Hartwell, let’s stop here.”

With that, Theo got into the passenger seat. The moment the door closed, the driver started the car and drove off.

A group of business partners was still standing behind them. After being publicly snubbed like

this, Logan’s expression darkened.

He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, and hostility radiated off him.

Vivian simply stood quietly to the side, watching.

Over the years, the people around Logan had praised him too highly, which gradually changed his mindset. He was no longer someone who could tolerate being inferior to someone else for long.

And Kingston had always handled things swiftly and decisively.

Vivian already seemed to see what kind of problems Whitfield Group would face in the future from how Logan was acting today.

She pressed her lips together and turned to leave, but Logan suddenly grabbed her hand and yanked her hard into his arms.

He said, “Vivi, you really are such a good wife. You negotiated such a huge contract without saying a word. A good wife means good fortune. It’s the biggest blessing of my life that I was able to marry you.”

He tightened his grip around Vivian, not allowing her to struggle, and never loosening his hold.

With her in his arms at this moment, the anxiety that had been hanging over his heart finally seemed to ease.

Just moments ago, he’d seen Vivian and Kingston talking happily as they walked away together. At that moment, it felt as if she would simply follow Kingston and leave just like that.

She hadn’t even looked back when he caused a scene.

Vivian pushed against him hard, but she stopped wasting her strength when she realized she couldn’t break free.

Several uninformed business partners began congratulating Logan, wishing them a lifetime of happiness and wishing Whitfield Group continued success.

Their contracts with Whitfield Group had yet to expire, so they were unaware of the things Logan had done.

Connor and Stella simply stood off to the side, saying nothing.
