I Cancel the Engagement and Level Way Up 53
Chapter 53
Logan’s gaze darkened. “Where did you hear that?”
Zane grinned mischievously. “Logan, stop trying to hide it from us. We just passed the private room next door and saw Vivian clinking glasses with Mr. Howard. They even wished each
other a happy partnership.”
Logan’s heart skipped a beat, and joy overflowed. He immediately turned the car around and left the underground garage.
He knew Vivian would never betray him.
She’d only gotten close to Kingston for the Whitfield Group’s sake.
“Logan…” Sloane looked at the happiness in Logan’s eyes in confusion.
A sense of unease crept up in her heart. “Did something good happen?”
The frown on Logan’s face had eased up, and a smile tugged at his lips. “Vivian wasn’t upstairs at all! How could I have doubted her? She’s clearly working hard for the Whitfield group, and for our future.”
Sloane’s expression stiffened, and she fell silent.
Seeing how happy Logan was, Diana said unhappily, “But she hid it from you and got into another man’s car. And…”
Logan cut her off. “Mom, I won’t hold what you said earlier against you, but you can’t say anything to slander Vivi anymore.”
Diana protested, “But…”
Logan shook his head. “No buts. Mom, you just need to remember this. I’ll have a lot of money in the future. I might even be able to ride on the Howard Group’s momentum and become the richest man in Baymoor.”
Diana was too shocked to speak.
She might not like Vivian, but she couldn’t hide her delight at this moment. “Vivi secured such a big project?”
Logan nodded. “I’m heading to the dinner now. She doesn’t like socializing, so I need to go help her.”
Diana suddenly became very understanding. “You should go. She definitely won’t be able to

handle it alone.”
After the car left the residential complex, Logan pulled over by the roadside and turned to Diana in the back seat. “Mom, take Sloane home first. I won’t be going back to the apartment for a while.”
Sloane’s eyes instantly reddened. “But I haven’t been feeling well lately. You can’t just stop coming to see me.”
Logan’s expression darkened, and his gaze was incredibly forceful. “If you aren’t feeling well, have my mom take you to the hospital.”
Diana quickly agreed. “Logan, don’t worry. With me by Sloane’s side, I won’t let anything happen to the child. Vivi’s done amazing work this time. It’s only right that you spend more
time with her.”
Sloane bit her lip hard. She knew that with things having developed this far, Logan wouldn’t stop for her, no matter how hard she tried. All she could do was bear with her emotions.
When she got out of the car, she still remembered to show some concern. “Don’t drink too
much.”
Logan merely responded with an indifferent grunt of acknowledgement. As he left, he added in a low voice, “Don’t call me during this period. I’ll contact you when I have time.”
Sloane widened her eyes, and tears started to flow.
Logan didn’t offer a single word of comfort as he started the car and drove off.
Diana was immersed in the joy of her son becoming the richest man in the city. When she saw Sloane crying silently, she immediately felt annoyed. “What are you crying for? You’ll cry away all the good fortune.
“If Vivi can help Logan become Baymoor’s richest man, then all you need to do is stay at home. Just have the baby and raise the child well. Since you chose this path, you’d better be clear about your position. Don’t even think about sabotaging Logan and Vivi’s relationship.”
Sloane’s face went pale, not expecting Diana, who despised Vivian and opposed her marriage to Logan, to change her stance so quickly.
