Cilantro Taste Novel Chapter 34

You Thought Cilantro Was Just a Flavor? It’s Actually My FU, Cheater! by Mark Twain 34

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

I stood there completely dumbfounded. Could his mistress actually be a ghost?

All my girlfriends stared at me with expressions that screamed: “First time we’ve ever seen someone willingly frame herself!”

Dorian looked utterly shocked in his silk robe, still drowsy as if he’d just woken up.

“Why… why are you all here?”

My friends exchanged bewildered glances, unsure what to say.

But I exploded. Pointing straight at Dorian, I demanded:

“Dorian, tell me-where the hell is that slut hiding?”

Dorian’s eyes reddened, looking utterly wronged:

“Victoria, what exactly are you trying to do?”

“Why are you always so paranoid? I know you’ve been under tremendous stress lately, but you can’t be this heartless-accusing me of cheating!”

Then he actually started sobbing.

My friends had witnessed Dorian and me together all these years. Seeing him cry, they all felt I’d gone too far, looking at him with guilt-ridden

eyes:

“Victoria, what are you doing?”

“Dorian was our campus heartthrob-you were so lucky to land him!”

“You two have been blissfully happy from college until now-don’t be stupid!”

“I told you Dorian could never do such a thing! Victoria, you’re completely out of line!”

Some even started suspecting I was the one having an affair-that I was deliberately creating drama to justify a divorce.

Watching these chattering friends, I suddenly realized I’d been overlooking a crucial detail.

“I’ve got it! Let’s go!”

I rushed everyone downstairs to find building management.

“Pull up our building’s security footage from an hour ago. That woman must still be in the building!”

Today’s security guard was that bespectacled friend of mine, who quickly operated the system for me.

Dorian sobbed pathetically:

“Victoria, you’re still falsely accusing me! How am I supposed to face the neighbors after this?”

Seeing my determination in catching this supposed affair, everyone began wavering again.

But looking at Dorian crying so pitifully, it didn’t seem fake either.

Chapter 5

For a moment, no one knew whose side to take.

The bespectacled guard helped us scan through the footage frame by frame.

It was work hours, so besides our group of friends, only maintenance staff and security had entered the building today.

After checking everything, we found nothing.

Dorian cried even harder:

“Victoria! Haven’t you made enough of a scene?”

My friends started trying to persuade me:

“Victoria! Enough already! Treating Dorian like this-you’ll regret it someday!”

I shook my head: “Something’s wrong!”

Suddenly another possibility occurred to me.

If she didn’t take the elevator, she could have used the fire escape! Just go up or down one floor via the stairwell, then take the elevator-simple!

“I need to check the elevator footage for the floors above and below!”

The guard’s eyes flickered evasively:

“Those aren’t your floor-we can’t violate other residents’ privacy like that!”

Lucky for me, I knew the woman upstairs. She’d gone abroad last year and asked me to keep an eye on her place before leaving.

“Go ahead and check it!”

I showed the guard the note she’d left me with her instructions.

The downstairs unit had been vacant, so that was fair game too.

The guard pulled up the surveillance, and finally, someone appeared in the footage.

But it was just Fiona Sharp, that security guard with the prominent canine teeth, doing window maintenance downstairs.

This was getting ridiculous-how could this mistress just vanish into thin air?
