Cilantro Taste Novel Chapter 28

You Thought Cilantro Was Just a Flavor? It’s Actually My FU, Cheater! by Mark Twain 28

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Swiss custodian bank online hearing, 8 PM.

Representatives from Credit Suisse, FINMA, and SEC sat on the other side of the screen. Rex and I wore headphones, sitting in a temporary war

room.

The hearing result was unsurprising:

1.Stellar Trust No. 1 terminated immediately due to suspected embezzlement of fund sources;

2.320 million Swiss francs in frozen assets to be returned proportionally to original sources;

3.Dylan, as protector, lifetime banned from establishing any trust or custodial accounts with the three institutions.

When the electronic seal fell on the screen, I heard my heart thump-like lifting a boulder that had pressed on my chest for five years. This marriage imprisoned by money had finally completely collapsed.

The next day, I handed my mom a newly opened savings card.

The old lady clutched the card, confirming repeatedly at the bank counter, voice full of disbelief: “This card is really for me? There’s really money in it?”

I smiled and helped her insert the card into the query machine. The numbers on the screen made her eyes widen.

“The password is your birthday. There’s 8 million inside-withdraw anytime you need.”

She gripped my hand, eyes welling up: “Stella, where did all this money come from?”

I didn’t explain the complex cause and effect, just patted her hand: “You raised me when I was small, now I support you in old age. It’s only

natural.”

Walking out of the bank, sunlight fell on her graying temples, warm enough to make my heart tremble.

For the first time, I felt this city that had been wrapped in coldness for years also had such tender moments.

After StarMed Medical resumed trading and hit limit down for three days, I convened minority shareholders for an emergency general meeting.

At the meeting, I stood before the packed room of shareholders and announced:

“VP position to be re-recruited through external headhunters to ensure professionalism and fairness;”

“The full $48 million in “phantom art consulting fees” recovered and transferred to company R&D fund for new drug research and equipment updates;”

“Establishment of “Employee Stock Ownership Plan Phase 2,” distributing Dylan’s relinquished trust shares 1:1 to core personnel to share in company development dividends.”

When I finished speaking, thunderous applause filled the room.

An elderly director came over and patted my shoulder with emotion: “Stella, you’ve finally become someone you can depend on yourself.”

A week later, I listed my mansion with a realtor.

The agent carefully asked about my psychological price range. I answered flatly: “I’ll sell 30% below original price if needed. Just close quickly.”

Chapter 9

The buyers were a couple who’d just returned to the States to start a business, with two lively children.

During the showing, the little girl bounced to the staircase landing and looked up at me: “Auntie, why aren’t there any family photos on the

walls?”

I paused for half a second, crouched down to touch her head, and smiled: “Because the people in the photos have moved somewhere else.”

When they signed the contract, I handed over the keys on the spot with sincere words: “I wish you happiness living here and that you can make this a truly warm home.”

The day Dylan was released from detention, Rex went to pick him up.

He wore the same suit for three days, cuffs stained, one shoelace still loose, completely lacking his former high spirits.

Rex handed him a one-way ticket: “To Toronto, 11 PM tonight.”
