Autumn took the agreement and smiled. “You’re giving me everything you own. If things go south, you’re the one who should be worried about having nowhere to go, not me.”
Damon’s voice was full of love. “I’m not worried. If I ever hurt you, I’ll deserve whatever happens to me, even if I end up on the streets.”
His expression was so genuine that Autumn’s heart skipped a beat.
They had just sat down at their reserved table when Zachary appeared out of nowhere and forced himself into the seat next to them.
Autumn frowned. “Zachary, what are you doing here?”
“Autumn, are you really going through with this engagement? I don’t believe you actually have feelings for him. Come back with me and we can start over, okay?”
Right in front of Zachary, Autumn leaned over and kissed Damon. “Believe me now?”
Zachary’s face went pale, and jealousy twisted in his chest like a knife. “Autumn, I’m not leaving. I know you’re just trying to make me jealous.”
Damon raised an eyebrow, clearly annoyed, and was about to have someone throw Zachary out when Autumn spoke up.
“Fine, suit yourself. If you want to stay that badly, then stay. Since you’re so curious about how good our relationship is, you can watch all you want. One extra person at the table doesn’t make a difference.”
So Zachary ended up eating dinner at their table. He watched as Autumn and Zachary kept showing off how in love they were, and suddenly everything tasted like nothing. Each look made his chest ache, so he kept his head turned, acting like he couldn’t see them.
That was when Zachary spotted a waiter pulling a knife from under his tray. The blade came down hard, aimed straight at Autumn.
“Autumn, watch out!”
Kristen stood there with pure hatred burning in her eyes. “Autumn, you need to die!”
Damon heard the shout and instinctively grabbed Autumn, turning his body to shield her. At the same time, Zachary lunged forward and blocked the knife meant for Autumn.
When the first strike missed, Kristen yanked the knife back and tried again, but Zachary grabbed her wrist and held on tight. She completely lost it and started stabbing him in the same wound over and over.

“Zachary, you should die too! If you’re gonna save Autumn, then just die with her! You don’t love me anyway, so why should you even live!”
Everyone froze in shock except for Damon, who kicked Kristen away. “Someone call the cops and get an ambulance!”
The security guards rushed over and pinned Kristen to the ground, but she just kept laughing like a maniac. “It’s all your fault! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!” she screamed.
Damon grabbed the first aid kit from one of the servers and ripped open Zachary’s shirt, working fast to stop the bleeding.
When Kristen saw the blood slowing down and realized she’d failed to kill him, she started cursing again. “You’re saying the guy who’s after your wife? What’s wrong with you?”
