She Got the Divorce and Bolted Novel Chapter 65

She got the divorce and bolted 65

Chapter 65

Miles‘ expression changed instantly. He lunged forward, reaching for the phone.

“You little bitch! Trying to play dirty with me now, huh?”

Sienna had been prepared. She stomped down hard on his polished leather shoe, making him cry out in pain and stagger back.

“The recording’s already been backed up.” Sienna waved her phone. “Take one more step, and I’ll send it straight to Clayton.”

The color drained from Miles‘ face. He hissed through gritted teeth, “What exactly do you want?”

“It’s simple, really. Stop helping Melody pull dirty tricks on Michelle.” Sienna’s smile faded as she glanced at her phone. “Or you’ll face the consequences.‘

“Fine! You win!” Miles shot her a vicious glare before storming off.

In truth, Sienna wasn’t completely confident either. Even if Clayton found out, he would probably tell Miles off a little and let things go. After all, that child had never truly mattered to him in the first place.

Besides, Rupert was about to undergo surgery. She wasn’t going to agitate him with something that was long over. The Hales and the Turners had deep ties, and she couldn’t simply drive a wedge between them.

Just then, Michelle returned after wrapping up her scene. She asked curiously, “What were you and Miles talking about? He

looked livid when he left.”

Sienna calmly put her phone away. “He just deserved a good scolding. He gave in after I yelled at him a bit.”

Michelle was amazed. “Even the director has to show him some respect. No one in the entire crew has the guts to mess with him. And yet you went head–to–head with him?”

“I’m your assistant now.” Sienna patted her on the shoulder. “Let’s see who dares to pick on you now.”

Michelle let out an emotional cry and threw an arm around Sienna’s neck. “Enna, you’re the best! I’m so lucky to have you as a friend. I’ve got to pay you well as my assistant!”

Sienna coughed twice at her antics. “I’ve been living at your place rent–free, and you never charged me. If I end up divorced with nowhere to go, aren’t you going to take me in?”

“Of course I’ll take you in! I’ll do it a hundred times over!” Michelle linked arms with her and dragged her outside. “Come on! Let’s have a feast–my treat!”

Early the next morning, the sky had yet to fully brighten, and Horizon Film Studios was still shrouded in a hazy mist. Inside the dressing room, harsh white lights glared overhead.

Michelle had some scenes scheduled early. She was already seated in front of the mirror, and the makeup artist was applying

her base.

Sienna stood beside her, holding a thermos and the script. She occasionally handed over a cup of warm tea, looking quite the part of a professional assistant.

“Lift your eyelids a bit more,” the makeup artist instructed softly. “Yes, just like that.”

Suddenly, someone pushed the door open.

Melody’s assistant, Shannon Lloyd, strode in like she owned the place. She tapped the makeup table with her finger. “Ms. Foster needs her makeup done right now. Head over there first.”

The makeup artist paused and turned to Michelle, looking conflicted.

Sienna set her things on the table and said firmly, “The call sheet says that Ms. Foster’s scene is still three hours away. What’s the rush? Does she have something in mind?”

Shannon shot Sienna a sideways glance. “Ms. Foster is a true professional. She likes to do her makeup and review her lines to get into character early. Some nobodies, on the other hand, only scramble when filming starts.”

Sienna let out a soft chuckle. “If Ms. Foster is that dedicated, she might as well come to work in full makeup. She can get into character on the way here. Better yet, she can even sleep with her makeup on. She can study her role in her dreams too. Who

knows? Maybe she’ll win herself a knockoff Silver Screen Award someday.”

A few staff members in the room couldn’t help but stifle their laughter.
