She Got the Divorce and Bolted Novel Chapter 55

She got the divorce and bolted 55

Just then, Michelle sent Sienna a photo of Melody in period costume at the location where they would shoot the drama.

Michelle texted, “How nice it is to have connections. She didn’t even show up for the script reading and still got the second female lead role. The actress who was originally cast had cried her eyes out in the bathroom. She sacrificed a lot to get that part, and then got replaced just like that.

“She even came to the set this morning to tear into Melody. Too bad the director wouldn’t allow photos, otherwise I’d show you what a real meltdown looks like.”

Sienna replied, “Just watch from the sidelines. Don’t get into another fight with her.”

“Relax. We have scenes together. I’m the little sister of the queen’s main lackey. My specialty is dealing with seductive schemers like her! I can’t touch her offstage, but I’ll beat her senseless for every frame on screen,” Michelle texted back.

Sienna warned, “Don’t go overboard. Clayton won’t let you off if something happens to her.”

Michelle replied, “It’s fine. I won’t be as impulsive as last time. Besides, Melody has made an enemy of our producer. To think they replaced the second female lead without consulting her. You should’ve seen her face. She was livid.”

Sienna was about to reply when the HR representative of Jierre Studios came out and announced the results. ” Congratulations to Sienna Winger, Zoe Watt, and Hank Mason. You’ll officially start work next week.”

As Sienna took the offer letter, a long–lost sense of accomplishment welled up inside her. This was, after all, the first job she had secured entirely on her own.

Zoe came over excitedly. “Hi! We’ll be coworkers from now on.”

Sienna smiled back. “I’m Sienna. Nice working with you.”

When she walked out of Jierre Studios, she felt incredibly proud. She couldn’t help but beam from ear to ear. She kept flipping the offer letter over and over in her hands like she was afraid it would somehow grow wings and fly out of her grasp.

First, she shared the good news with Michelle. Then, she headed straight to Hale Group.

The moment she stepped into the lobby, she ran headfirst into Clifford and a group of board directors. All of them were dressed in smart suits and radiating authority as they strode toward the exit in a formidable pack

Sienna instantly shrank back and tried to make herself invisible. She even edged toward a potted plant, wishing she could

turn into one too.

Unfortunately, Clifford had sharp eyes. He stopped right in front of her. “Are you here to see Clay, Enna?”

The board directors all turned to look at her in unison, their gazes curious. Sienna felt like a misbehaving student caught in

the act by the principal.

She nodded awkwardly and said in a soft voice, “Y–Yes.”

Sienna had rarely come to the company in the past. Furthermore, it was still work hours. Clifford was famously career- obsessed. He might think she was distracting Clayton. She was just like a failing student who came to drag the top student out to play instead of letting him study as he should..

But Clifford didn’t scold her. Instead, he chuckled and said, “Then why aren’t you going in? Don’t just stand there.”

“I–I’m going right now!” Sienna fled in a hurry as the faint murmur of discussion rang out behind her.

“So that’s your daughter–in–law, Mr. Hale?”

“Yes, she’s a bit shy.”

“She looks very demure and clever.”

“Indeed. My father dotes on her a lot.”

Sienna’s face flushed as she quickly slipped into the elevator. She had been here several times recently, so she was already familiar with the place.

The moment she stepped out of the elevator, she nearly collided with Rowan.

He looked surprised. “What brings you here, Mrs. Hale?”

She had just fought with Clayton this morning. Had they made up already by the afternoon? Rowan thought their relationship dynamic had changed faster than the weather.

Sienna narrowed her eyes at him. “What, am I not allowed to come? Is Clayton hiding someone in his office or doing something shady?”

Rowan waved his hands frantically. “No! It’s just that it’s not mealtime yet. So, you showing up now is a bit unexpected.”

Sienna snorted. “Is Clayton a glutton? Can I only come here to deliver food?”

Rowan was rendered speechless, wailing silently inside. He wished Sienna didn’t have such a sharp tongue.

He informed, “Mr. Hale is in a meeting. Would you like to wait in his office?”

“No need.” Sienna plopped down on the couch in the lounge. “I’ll just watch how you work.”

After all, she was about to start a new job soon. She needed to pick up some workplace experience. Rowan, who had been with the company for five years, was the perfect observation target.

“Huh?” Rowan was taken aback.
