Sienna rolled her eyes. “Because you left me speechless.”
Hayden burst out laughing. “Great. I wasn’t expecting a joke.”

Miles had gone backstage to find Melody. So, the three of them headed outside.
Hayden teased Sienna on purpose. “You nodded off twice just now, and your head landed on my shoulder both times. Your husband was sitting right next to you, and you still chose me. My charm knows no limits.”
He shot Clayton a meaningful look. “If you’re feeling pressured, just say the word. With a handsome friend like me around, it’s only natural you’d feel threatened. I get it. I’ll try to rein in my charm a bit.”
Sienna looked confused. “Really?”
Clayton reached out and poked her forehead.
Then, he didn’t mince his words as he mocked, “Are you a pig? How can you sleep this much? You fell asleep in the home theater last night. You slept again in my office this afternoon, and now you even slept through the whole play tonight. Can you fall asleep just anywhere? Why don’t we just throw the bed at home away and build you a pigsty?”
Sienna glared at him, wishing she could tear him to pieces with her eyes.
Hayden seemed to suddenly think of something. He stroked his chin as he looked her up and down.
He said, “Wait… Don’t tell me you’re pregnant? Women tend to feel sleepy during early pregnancy.”
This alarmed Sienna and made her gasp. “No way!”
After her miscarriage three years ago, the doctor had said her body was too weak and that it would be very risky if she got pregnant. He had advised her to recuperate before trying again.
Besides, neither she nor Clayton had wanted kids. So, they both made sure to use protection, even if they never discussed it.
Clayton, however, looked thoughtful. “It’s possible. Have you forgotten? I think we didn’t make it in time last month in the
bathroom…”
Sienna hurriedly covered his mouth as her ears reddened with embarrassment. “Shut up!”
Hayden laughed so hard he was beside himself. “Well, you two really don’t take me as an outsider. Are you sure I should be hearing this?”
Clayton shook her hand off and said decisively, “We’ll go to the hospital tomorrow to get you checked.”
Sienna panicked and blurted, “No way!”
She absolutely could not be pregnant right now. That would mess up all of her plans.
Moreover, she had her second interview at Jierre Studios Design tomorrow. She still vividly remembered the argument between Neriah and the male HR interviewer about pregnancy.
If she really was pregnant, wouldn’t that just prove his point about the risk she posed as a new hire by being married but childless?
Just then, Melody and Miles walked over.
Melody’s makeup was impeccable. There was a thick layer of foundation on her face. She probably did her makeup a little heavy–handed to hide the injuries from her fight with Michelle.
She smiled gently and said, “You came, Sienna. You turned down my invitation last time. I thought you wouldn’t come. What did you think of the play? It’s a great piece that’s really worth watching twice. You get different reflections every time.”

Sienna met her fake polite gaze head–on and yawned. “After watching it just now, I think turning you down last time was absolutely the right call. I regret coming. It was so boring that I fell asleep. Some people recite their lines so softly and monotonously.
“Yet, you’re suggesting that I watch it a second time. Please. I wouldn’t want to torture my ears again.”
Melody’s smile stiffened. But with the others present, she forced herself to keep her composure.
She replied amicably, “That’s alright. You can watch other versions. I won’t be focusing on stage plays, so there won’t be many performances anyway. There’s one less chance to see my performance with every showing.”
Miles chimed in from the side, “Don’t expect too much from someone like Sienna. She has no taste. She slept through class at school and at home all the time. Now, she even sleeps through a play.”
Sienna smirked and countered, “Yeah, of course I can’t compare to your refined taste. You’re so into works with questionable values that you have questionable morals as a person.”
Seeing as they were at each other’s necks again, Hayden stepped in to smooth things over. “Since we’re all together, how about grabbing a drink at Nightend?”
Melody’s eyes lit up at his suggestion.
Considerate as ever, she said, “Sure. Drinks on me tonight. Thanks for coming to show your support.”
She then turned to Clayton and said intimately, “Clay, why don’t you join us?”
