“What is it with you lately? You haven’t attended any recent tea parties or art exhibitions. You even canceled your golf lessons. Some people are asking me if you’re resting at home because you’re pregnant.”

Sienna’s temples were throbbing. Irene had often arranged different classes for her to attend.

Flowers had to be arranged precisely at certain angles. Tea leaves could only be steeped for a certain amount of time. Sienna also had to smile and walk elegantly.

Before this, Sienna would attend these classes since she was free and she didn’t have to pay for them. So, she listened to Irene obediently.

However, things were different now. Sienna had other things to do. She had no time to participate in this training intended to make her an elegant, sophisticated lady.

Just as she was about to decline Irene’s request, Sienna felt someone pulling her from behind, causing her to stagger backward.

“You shouldn’t speak to her the way you would scold your subordinates in the past.”

Clayton appeared out of nowhere and stood between Sienna and Irene.

Irene’s voice softened a little when she saw him. “I’m doing this for her sake.”

“Is she my wife or your wife?” Clayton did not buy what she said. He smirked. “You got her participating in so many different classes. What’s the point of her learning all that? Was it so she could beat all those rich ladies who had too much time on their hands?”

Irene stiffened. She opened her mouth but didn’t say anything in the end.

However, Clayton continued mercilessly, “If you like ordering her around that much, you should get yourself a wife too so you could boss her around instead.”

Sienna pinched the back of Clayton’s hand discreetly to signal him to stop.

Clayton grabbed her wrist and dragged her toward the front door. He grumbled with dissatisfaction, “Why didn’t you say anything to my mom? Weren’t you really great at dissing me? Do you only lash out at those whom you’re familiar with?”

Sienna pulled her hand free. “How could I possibly do that to her? She’s your mom, after all.”

Besides, Irene had at most nagged her a little. She treated Sienna pretty well. She was much better than those people who seemed friendly but had malicious intentions toward her.

Therefore, the feelings Sienna had toward Irene were more of respect. She would listen to her nagging but not pay much heed to it.

“I’m not as sharp-tongued as you are.” Sienna cast him a sideways glance. “Grandpa even fainted after learning what had happened. What do we do now?”

Clayton’s brows arched. He replied matter-of-factly, “What do you mean? We’ll just leave things as they are.”

Sienna had a dumbfounded look on her face. She suggested, “Why don’t we just go ahead and proceed with completing the divorce procedure first. We can announce the news to everyone after Grandpa achieves full recovery.”

“Did you really think Grandpa is that dumb? You don’t have to do things in such a roundabout way if you plan on driving him up the wall.” Clayton poked Sienna’s forehead with his finger.

“So, you refused to divorce me because you were worried about Grandpa? Have you always been so considerate of him?” Sienna stared at Clayton intently with those dark eyes.

“What other reason could it be?” Clayton let out a scoff. “He was the one who forced me to get married. There’s no way he’ll forgive me if I proceed with the divorce without his permission.”

He scanned Sienna from head to toe. “Besides, you’re not so attractive that I’ll want to hold onto you forever.”

Sienna felt a terrible ache in her heart. Still, she smiled brightly. “Fine. I’m not so narcissistic as to think that I’m really a great catch. We’ll go our separate ways once Grandpa’s had his surgery.”

She turned around and was about to walk away. Yet, Clayton caught hold of her arm and dragged her along toward the car.

“Are you planning on walking home from here, which is in the middle of nowhere? I’ll give you a lift. Otherwise, you’ll call me mean again.”

“I can…”

“Can you drive?” Clayton cut her off and said in a slightly mocking tone, “You failed the driving test for two years. Even your driving instructor was considering switching careers after watching you fail over and over again.”

Sienna was a bit flustered and embarrassed. “It wasn’t as long as two years. It was just one year! My driving instructor and I were a little incompatible. He said I was turning the steering wheel in a really weird way. I couldn’t go there for a while, and I eventually forgot what I learned. That was all.”

Clayton opened the car door and smirked. “You’re trying to pin the blame on some other reason again, you little liar? Why were you the only one who failed the test when others passed it? Was it a sudden gene mutation? Or is your brain slightly underdeveloped?”

Sienna was exasperated hearing those words. She remained silent but was positively fuming as she got into the backseat.

Clayton sat in the driver’s seat. He glanced over his shoulder at her. “Why are you in the backseat? Move to the front seat.”

Sienna crossed her arms and snorted. “I should sit in the back since I don’t have a driving license. I’m not like Mr. Driver here, whose brain is fully developed. You should sit in front and show off your excellent driving skills. Please drop me off at Longview Garden. Thank you.”

Clayton’s brows twitched. “You’ve been addressing me as Mr. Hale. Now you’re calling me Mr. Driver. How many more nicknames are you giving me?”

Sienna called out several names, “Bro, old perv, bastard, miser… You can pick whichever you like.” Clayton started the engine and lifted his brows. “Why isn’t there ‘Hubby’?”
