Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 99

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 99

Chapter 99

Although the woman Jeffrey loved most was indeed Abigail, he still knew his boundaries. He had never once touched her even in private, let alone acted intimately with her out in public.

“That’s right!” Stephen nodded. However, something seemed to occur to him, and he hastily corrected himself, “Wait, no, it isn’t appropriate to say a cheating bastard is acting

affectionate with his mistress. Let’s call it what it is–adultery!”

Natalie tilted her head slightly and said, “That’s enough, Steph. There’s no need to say anything more, and you shouldn’t let your emotions dictate your actions. Even if you were to catch Jeffrey in the act of sleeping with Abigail in the future, you shouldn’t let it bother you.”

“Come on, Nat. How could you endure even that?”

“I’m not enduring it. I’m simply stepping aside and letting them have their way.”

The more she protested and intervened, the more these two would think that what they had

was true love. True love was a road filled with difficulties and obstacles. Even when the whole

world was against a couple, they would remain firmly by each other’s side, supporting each

other.

Natalie was dying to see just how long Jeffrey and Abigail could remain together. Maybe their relationship would actually worsen once they really got together. Who was to say?

Jeffrey’s expression turned frosty. “Ab and I are just-”

“Natalie!”

“Jeff! Natalie!”

Johnson’s and Chandler’s voices abruptly rang out, cutting off Jeffrey.

They started running over, and once they were closer, they were able to see the wounds on both Jeffrey and Stephen.

Johnson sped up and headed straight for Natalie before grabbing her by the shoulders. He scanned her from head to toe, then spun her around to check her front and back. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. Let’s go,” Natalie answered.

Every time she encountered Jeffrey, things would get chaotic and messy. He was like a curse.

“What happened?” Johnson asked her gently. “I only left you alone for a short while to see off the clients. How did something so serious happen? If I had known, I would’ve insisted on staying with you. I thought that your brother would protect you well.”

He paused briefly, then made a guess. “Did Jeffrey do something? Or did Abigail say something?”

Sighing, Natalie replied, “It’s all in the past now. I don’t want to linger on it any longer.”

With that, she moved to support Stephen before heading for their car. “Let’s go home, Steph.”

However, when she thought about how she had to return to Foster Garden after sending Stephen back to the Bennett residence, she couldn’t help but feel frustrated and annoyed.

If she didn’t return, Martha was sure to inform Caroline about it, and then she would definitely be receiving a visit from the elderly lady the next day.

Without looking back even once, Natalie got into the car and slammed on the accelerator.

Jeffrey remained in the same spot, his fingers coming up once again to rub the bruise by his lips. The injury was starting to ache faintly now that the adrenaline had worn off.

Stephen packed a mean punch, and he had been quite sneaky by ambushing Jeffrey like that. If Jeffrey had been on his guard, there was no way Stephen would have been able to even get close to him!

“Jeff, I think you should put some ice on that injury. It’ll heal faster that way,” Chandler said.

Jeffrey turned to level him with a narrowed gaze. “Why are you here?”

“I… I was having dinner with them while discussing some things.”

“You sure care a lot about the Bennett siblings‘ matters.”

“Well, we’re all family, aren’t we?” Chandler said with a chuckle. “Of course, I’d help where I

can.”

Hearing that, Jeffrey pressed meaningfully, “Are you doing it because of Johnson or Natalie?”

“Both. Johnson is my best buddy, while Natalie is my cousin–in–law. Since we’re bound to interact with each other, isn’t it a good thing to form closer bonds?” Chandler replied. He then asked, “Jeff, why are you with Abigail again?”

His dissatisfaction with Abigail was clear as day in his tone.

Abigail didn’t say a word and merely lowered her gaze. All she knew was that Chandler had teld her to come to Lux Bistro with Jeffrey tonight, no matter what, and she had to behave

more intimately with him. However, she had no idea what Chandler’s true motive was for this plan.
