Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 96

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 96

Unfortunately, there was no way Natalie could stop Stephen in time, even if she ran after him

now.

Upon realizing that Abigail was getting closer to him, Jeffrey furrowed his brow slightly. “Ab?”

What did she plan on doing?

However, Abigail didn’t respond. She singlemindedly leaned over as she zeroed in on his lips.

Jeffrey pushed a little harder with his hand that was pressing on her shoulder, his fingers turning white.

Just as Abigail’s breath fanned across his mouth, Jeffrey felt a strong hand clamp his arm before he was yanked backward.

The sudden motion caused Jeffrey to stumble back several steps. Once he had steadied himself, he turned to look at who had grabbed him, only to see Stephen. The latter’s face was flushed

red, and he reeked of alcohol.

UN

Before Jeffrey could say anything, Stephen was throwing a punch right at him.

“Kissing Abigail and being all lovey–dovey with her out in public… Do you even care about my sister? Have you ever respected her? She must have really been blind back then to fall for a scumbag like you! Not only did she waste her youth on you, but she even gave up on her career! “Stephen ranted.

Swinging his fist forward again, he continued screaming, Jeffrey Foster, you don’t fucking deserve her! You don’t deserve having such a wonderful wife! Serves you right for being deceived and played for a fool by a pretentious bitch like Abigail!”

His second punch was a miss as Jeffrey had finally come to his senses. He swiftly dodged the

blow.

With lightning speed, Jeffrey retaliated and seized Stephen’s wrist, his eyes shining with murderous intent. No one had ever hit him before. Stephen was the first.

The vice grip around his wrist caused Stephen to be unable to move it, but he still had his other hand, so he didn’t hesitate to continue his attack. In fact, he even lashed out with his legs, throwing kicks and punches everywhere.

Alcohol and sheer fury lent Stephen more strength than usual, raising his ferociousness by several levels. Hence, Jeffrey was unable to hold his ground and was forced to retreat over and over again.

Like a recklessly charging bull, Stephen kept up the assault as he bellowed, “I’ve long since

wanted to beat you to death, you bastard! It seems I’m finally getting the chance today!

“Having a mistress, aiding the Wright family, and letting down Nat… I used to think that you’d snap out of it one day and come to your senses, so I tried to get in your good graces and always stood on your side. I immediately let you know when Nat had an abortion, yet what did you do? You were glad that she voluntarily got rid of the baby!”

Jeffrey’s expression was grim, though he remained silent.

Seizing the opportunity when Stephen launched another fist at him, Jeffrey ducked under it and darted behind Stephen. Then, he reached forward and wrapped his arm around Stephen’s neck, putting him in a headlock.

The tables were immediately turned with that move, and Stephen lost any ability to fight back All he could do was scrabble helplessly at Jeffrey’s arm, yet Jeffrey didn’t even budge an inch.

Jeffrey uttered coldly, “You have a death wish, huh?”

As he gradually tightened his grip, Stephen’s expression grew increasingly pained.

“Steph! Let him go! He’ll choke to death!”

Natalie rushed over, her hair a disheveled mess while her face was deathly pale. She wanted to help but didn’t know what to do. Her hands hovered in mid–air for a moment before dropping back to her sides uselessly.

“Jeffrey Foster, let go

of my

brother!”

Jeffrey’s expression was terrifyingly dark as he retorted, “Do you seriously think I will?”

Just who the hell did she think he was? With his status and influence, everybody had to show him respect, no matter who they were.

Yet, Stephen had physically assaulted him without any warning. This was a blatant challenge to his authority! He had never, in his entire life, been hit before!

And that was not even counting the fact that Stephen hadn’t held back with that first punch. A bruise was already visibly forming at the corner of Jeffrey’s mouth. He would not be letting this matter go.
