Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 95
Chapter 95
Natalie couldn’t drink.
Stephen had handled most of it for her, and by the end, he was feeling a little tipsy. After the event wrapped up, he swayed unsteadily as soon as he stood up.
“You’re drunk, Stephen. Slow down. I’ll help you,” Natalie said.
“I’m not drunk. I’m fine,” Stephen insisted. “It was just a few drinks. I could still drink half a
bottle of white wine if I wanted to.”
“Alright, no one’s drinking with you anymore. The dinner’s over. Let’s go home,” Natalie said, helping him toward the exit.
The waiter kindly opened the door for them. “Take care. Hope to see you again soon.”
It was early fall, and the air was still heavy and warm. The moment they stepped outside, the
heat hit them like a wall.
After walking a few steps, Natalie heard a rough woman’s voice coming from not far away.
“Jeff, the food here is pretty delicious. We should come back next time.”
It was Abigail. What was she doing here? Wasn’t she supposed to be recovering in the hospital? Didn’t she still need treatment for her throat?
Stephen heard it too and immediately lifted his head to look in the direction of the voice.
There, in front of a black Maybach, stood Jeffrey and Abigail. Abigail was holding a small piece of cake. She took a bite and said happily, “I didn’t expect the cake to be so good. Jeff, try it.”
She got a spoonful and held it out to Jeffrey. The spoon had just been in her mouth.
Jeffrey pressed his lips together. “You
go
ahead.”
But Abigail held the spoon closer to his lips, insisting, “It’s not too sweet. Come on, try it.”
Just as he was about to open his mouth, his phone rang. He answered in a low voice and
started a conversation about work.
Abigail waited patiently, her eyes shining as she watched him.
Meanwhile, a smear of white cream remained at the corner of his lips. As he spoke, his lips parted, and the cream looked like a little white mustache. Abigail couldn’t help but laugh.
It was from the spoon when she fed him the cake, and the edge of it had accidentally rubbed on his lip.

Without thinking, Abigail rose on her toes and leaned in, clearly intending to lick it off.
Jeffrey didn’t know what she was about to do. As he continued to talk on the phone, he absentmindedly placed his hand on her shoulder.
She tilted her head slightly, her target clearly set on the cream on his lip.
From Natalie’s view, however, it looked like the two of them were kissing.
In the open parking lot, which was visible to anyone nearby, they were openly affectionate . Sharing a piece of cake, using the same spoon, and then kissing without any care for who saw.
Even while Jeffrey was on the phone, nothing seemed to stop their intimate moment. How many more intimate moments had they shared behind closed doors?
Natalie stood there silently, her emotions still, but she found it all absurd. How could she have loved a man like that for 17 years?
“Damn!” Suddenly, Stephen shouted and stormed toward them, fury in his steps.
Shocked, Natalie reached out to stop him, but her hand grabbed only empty air.
