Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 94

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 94

Natalie was surprised.

Stephen’s reputation in Caspia City was far from stellar. He was considered a lost cause, so how did Johnson and Chandler end up hanging out with him?

She asked, “Stephen, did you close those business deals?”

“Yeah!” Stephen nodded, his tone dripping with pride. “They went really well. I made a small profit, so I’m treating everyone tonight. Don’t try to steal my spotlight!”

Natalie couldn’t believe it. “Really? It’s done?”

“Absolutely!” Stephen confirmed again.

Before she could even process it, he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “I’ll send you the address and the private room number later. Come join us tonight. Chandler set this up, and the guests are all important people. You might even get a chance to expand your gallery’s business.

“By the way…” He leaned closer to her ear and lowered his voice. “Don’t get too caught up in your work. You have to pay attention to your personal life too. Johnson is a great guy. You should give him a chance. Otherwise, another woman might swoop in, and you won’t even know what hit you.”

Natalie lowered her voice and replied, “Stephen, don’t you think something’s off?”

“What’s off?” Stephen asked, confused.

“Johnson’s willing to help you, I get that. But why would Chandler be willing to do the same?”

“Why wouldn’t he?” Stephen shrugged.

“The Foster family and the Bennett family are practically in–laws. Helping me out is the least he could do. Not everyone’s like Jeffrey, who only cares about the Wright family.”

Natalie still felt that something was wrong.

“What, you can’t handle seeing me succeed?” Stephen asked, his voice slightly defensive. ”

The business is going great. If everything goes smoothly, we’ll be rolling in millions this year.

Natalie thought for a moment and then sighed. “Just be careful not to get scammed.”

Stephen laughed it off. “Nah, that won’t happen.”

With that, he waved at Chandler. “Chandler, I’m guessing this is your first time here, right? I

know this place, so let me show you around. Nat, I’ll take care of him, so you stick with Johnson.”

Johnson walked over to Natalie, his gaze fixed on her face. “You’ve lost weight. Have you been too busy or too tired?”

“Have I?” Natalie smiled lightly. “I haven’t been eating well. My appetite’s been off lately.”

Only she knew how many times a day she had to hide in the bathroom to deal with her morning sickness. She couldn’t even stand the smell of meat. Sometimes, she’d feel nauseous for no reason at all. Her stomach would churn, and she’d feel sick to her core.

She’d gone to the doctor, who said it was normal during pregnancy. Everyone’s body was different, so the severity of morning sickness varied. The only solution was to ride it out. There was no other way.

So, she just had to push through.

Johnson sighed softly. “Your chin’s gotten so sharp. Seeing you like this, I kind of regret helping you with the gallery.”

He reached up and gently brushed her hair, then quickly pulled his hand back.

From across the room, Chandler stood in front of a painting, pretending to examine it closely. But his eyes kept darting toward Johnson and Natalie. Seeing Johnson’s intimate gesture, he smirked, clearly pleased.

After a moment, he excused himself and went to the bathroom. As soon as he was out of earshot, he texted Abigail.

She replied immediately. “Got it.”

Natalie arrived at Lux Bistro as promised. The private room, which could fit 20 people, was packed. She put on her best smile and switched into full social mode.

Fortunately, Stephen sat on her left, Johnson on her right, and Chandler was directly across from her. With these people around her, she felt safe, confident, and completely at ease. She talked nonstop about her gallery, feeling more comfortable with each word.

She had never been shy at these kinds of events. Back when she accompanied Jeffrey to high- profile gatherings and parties, she always knew how to navigate the crowd.

Now, she was applying that same social savvy to her own career, and it felt like the perfect fit.
