Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 90

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 90-

A wave of disapproval swept through the crowd.

“What do you think you’re doing? Are you trying to assault her?”

“Do you seriously think that cheating is okay?”

“You betrayed your wife for a tramp? You’re going to get what’s coming to you.”

“I can’t believe you asked your wife to apologize to your mistress.”

“The homewrecker doesn’t deserve an apology. She deserves a beating!”

Once the bystanders had berated Jeffrey, they swiftly turned their attention toward Abigail, who was sitting on the hospital bed.

“Look at her. She looks like such a manipulative woman.”

“Men fall for that fake innocent act all the time.”

“She even has the audacity to glare at us. That’s right, we’re talking about you!”

To make matters worse, even the nurses were giving Abigail disapproving looks. In no time, Jeffrey and Abigail had become the target of public scorn. After all, no one could tolerate a cheating jerk and his manipulative mistress.

“Don’t worry, young lady. We’re all on your side,” the woman who was standing next to Natalie suddenly declared.

“Thank you, ma’am.”

“There’s no need to thank me. There’s nothing I hate more than a man who cheats on his wife.

Jeffrey’s gaze swept through the crowd before it landed squarely on Natalie. Natalie met his gaze with a taunting look before she flashed him a small smile.

Just like he wanted, she had apologized to Abigail and told her she was sorry. However, from the very beginning, she had never admitted to drugging Abigail’s drink.

Natalie raised her hand and waved Jeffrey goodbye. She mouthed the word “bye” to him as well.

She was going to take her leave now. She turned around in one swift motion and left without glancing back.

Jeffrey stared at her retreating figure. He tried to go after her, but the crowd around him made it hard for him to move. He was completely stuck.

“What are you trying to do now? Don’t you feel guilty at all?”

“Your wife is so much prettier than that mistress of yours. You might want to get your eyes checked out by an ophthalmologist.”

In the end, Jeffrey had no choice but to watch Natalie walk away. He stepped back into the ward and slammed the door shut. With the door closed, the shouting from the hallway vanished, and the ward finally quieted down.

Despite his newfound peace and quiet, Jeffrey still looked incredibly displeased. He had been played by Natalie once again. She truly had a knack for springing dramatic surprises on him.

Abigail lowered her head. “I don’t think I should stay in Caspia City, Jeff. I shouldn’t have returned so soon. Maybe I should just continue to live abroad.”

She started pretending to back down to gain the upper hand. She acted as if she wanted to leave. But in reality, she was waiting for Jeffrey to ask her to stay.

“When you told me I could return to the country, I thought that the worst was finally behind me. I had already waited for five years, and I couldn’t bear to wait one more day. So, I rescheduled my flight and returned a day earlier,” she rasped.

Her hoarse voice only made Jeffrey pity her even more.

Afterward, she continued, “When I came back, you and Natalie were still in the middle of finalizing your divorce. The fact that you’re still married puts me in an awkward position. I don’t want to be the subject of judgment and ridicule, so I think it’s best if I leave.”

“Leave?” Jeffrey exclaimed in a raised voice. “The one who should be leaving is Natalie!”

“But I really can’t take the harsh scolding anymore…” Abigail cried.

She asked again, “Jeff, the person who isn’t loved should be the other woman in the relationship, right?”

“You were supposed to become Mrs. Foster five years ago,” he replied.

Natalie was the one who refused to give up her place, and just like that, five years dragged on.
