Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 85

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 85

Chapter 85

Natalie shut the door behind her.

The study was dimly lit, with only a desk lamp casting light over Jeffrey’s side profile, emphasizing the sharp, cold lines of his face.

Natalie stood across from him, waiting.

Jeffrey casually tossed two sealed bags at her. They hit her before falling to the floor.

She looked down. One contained a teacup while the other held a test report. She didn’t pick them up, but she already knew what they meant.

“Did you find out what the drug in the tea was?” Natalie asked.

“Don’t you know what drug you used?” Jeffrey shot back.

She lifted her eyes, meeting his gaze. She replied, “You can accuse me all you want.”

He had already made up his mind that she was the culprit, and nothing she said would change that. Proving her innocence was impossible.

Jeffrey said, “You hate Abigail, and I understand that. But you can’t harm her. She hasn’t done anything wrong.”

Natalie didn’t respond. There was nothing to say.

“Natalie, you’re in your situation today because of me, yes, but part of the fault also lies with you. You can come at me all you want for our issues.”

Did he just tell her to go up against him? How ridiculous.

Natalie looked at him mockingly. “Jeffrey, I’ve already agreed to the divorce, and I’m walking away with nothing. I was even willing to help convince your family to accept Abigail. What more do you want from me? Should I be the one to marry you and Abigail?”

She continued, “I don’t have any intention of targeting you and Abigail. I do hope both of you will stay together forever. Let me make this clear–it’s you and Abigail who are causing trouble for me! Both of you are ganging up on me and won’t leave me alone!”

For Caroline’s sake, Jeffrey forced her to act like they were still the perfect couple. Natalie had only agreed so that it wouldn’t affect Caroline’s health.

However, Abigail was constantly looking for ways to provoke her. She was always finding ways to insult Natalie while flaunting her affection for Jeffrey and rubbing her superiority in Natalie’s face.

What had Natalie done to deserve this torment?

Jeffrey’s expression remained cold. “You poisoned Abigail’s drink and made her mute, yet you still have the nerve to justify yourself?”

“I told you, it wasn’t me!” Natalie snapped back.

“Then prove it,” he demanded.

Natalie bit down hard on her lip, tasting blood, but she didn’t care. It didn’t matter what she said. He wouldn’t believe her anyway. So, she decided to stay silent.

Her expression hardened, radiating defiance.

Jeffrey slowly stood up, placing his hands on the desk as his body towered over her.

“Natalie, what I hate most about you is this look on your face. Just looking at you annoys me!” he said, his eyes glinting with irritation.

Unable to hold back, Natalie shot back, “You think I want to look at you?”

“You were the one who insisted on marrying me. Look where we are now!”

“Well, I’ve been through five years of hell, so I’ve paid for the mistakes I made when I was younger, haven’t I?” Natalie retorted.

She added, “Jeffrey, you’re not all that great. I’m not that desperate for you that I can’t even bear to leave you. If you want, we can go to the Foster residence right now and tell everyone that we’re divorcing!”

Jeffrey narrowed his eyes, clearly annoyed. “I also hate your sharp tongue, Natalie.”

“No woman is born a shrew, Jeffrey. It takes an asshole like you, who treats women like crap, to push a woman to the breaking point!”

“Did you just insult me?”

“I am insulting you!”

In a flash, Jeffrey grabbed the nearest file and hurled it at Natalie.

Natalie instinctively turned her head to avoid it, but the file still hit her. Its sharp corner grazed her collarbone and left a small cut on it. Blood started to trickle down slowly.
