Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 64
Chapter 64
Caroline and Beverly had served in the same military squad when they were young. Their comradeship ran deep, and after all these years, their bond had only grown stronger. Now that they were in–laws as well, their relationship was even closer.
“Well, look at that. Our great painter is finally back,” Caroline teased.
She added, “You’re so busy every day that we never get to see you. We have to lie in wait at
home just to catch a glimpse of you.”
Beverly laughed. “I told you a long time ago that Nat was destined to become a great artist. Did you think I was joking?”
“Yes, yes. Jeffrey really is blessed to marry such an amazing wife,” Caroline said.
Beverly nodded. “Have a child. A family of three would be even more perfect.”
Caroline said, “We’re making sure she’s prepared for pregnancy. A few days ago, when Nat came to the Foster residence, I even invited a famous doctor to check on her and prescribe some medicine.”
O
As she spoke, Caroline turned to Natalie. “You’ve been taking the herbal tonic that gets delivered every day, right?”
Natalie replied, “Yes, I’ve been taking it. You care so much about my health, so how could I let you down? It’s just that the tonic is really bitter and hard to swallow.”
Caroline replied, “It’s all for your health and for the sake of conceiving a child.”
Natalie chuckled awkwardly. “Yes, yes.”
She hadn’t even seen the tonic because she wasn’t living in Foster Garden at all. She had no idea how Jeffrey had dealt with it. Besides, Natalie didn’t dare to take it anyway. She was already pregnant, so how could she just take any random medication?
She didn’t know how long she could keep this pregnancy a secret. As the months went by, her belly would inevitably start to show. How was she supposed to explain that then?
Just thinking about it gave her a headache.
She’d hide it for as long as she could and deal with it when her belly got big.
Beverly said, “Nat, don’t overwork yourself. I support you in starting your own business, but your health and family come first, understand?”
Natalie nodded. “I understand, Grandma.”

Beverly asked, “Jeffrey has been supporting you too, right? You work this late every day, and he even personally goes to pick you up.”
Natalie’s startup funds had come from Tyler. Beverly had been present at the time and had personally approved it.
In truth, she had been wondering. Natalie had been a full–time wife for five years, but she suddenly wanted to pursue a career. Could there be problems with their marriage? That was why she invited Caroline to come to Foster Garden so that they could check on the situation together.
From the looks of it, the couple seemed fairly normal.
Jeffrey responded coolly, “Yes, I support whatever she does unconditionally.”
Natalie stood beside him, wearing a standard smile.
At that moment, they looked just like a married couple.
Beverly nodded in satisfaction. “That’s good. When a couple is living together, they should discuss everything they do. Mutual respect and mutual support are how things last long–term.
Caroline added, “Absolutely. If Jeffrey ever dares to treat Nat badly, I’ll be the first to deal with him!”
Natalie kept chuckling stiffly, and her face practically felt frozen from smiling. It was getting a little hard to keep up the act. Should she make up an excuse and hide out in the restroom for a bit?
Suddenly, she felt her shoulder warm up. Jeffrey had lifted his arm and draped it over her, pulling her closer to his side. “Nat is gentle and very capable of managing the household, leaving me with no worries. I’m very happy with her.

Natalie was utterly silent, feeling goosebumps all over her. Did he even hear himself?
