Divorced, Upgraded, and Married Rich Chapter 53

Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 53

Chapter 53

Chandler was the only one who had spoken up for Natalie.

After finishing his remarks, Chandler turned to Abigail and asked, “Right, Ms. Wright?”

Abigail didn’t dare meet his gaze. She only said, “I’ll listen to Jeff.”

Jeffrey said nothing. He simply bent down and lifted Natalie into his arms. Then, he carried her back into the living room. He placed her on the couch, then casually picked up a piece of candy from the tray on the coffee table. He peeled off the wrapper and made a move to stuff it

into Natalie’s mouth.

The moment her lips touched the candy, she turned her head away. “I don’t want mango flavor.”

Jeffrey’s expression stiffened as he reached to grab another one, but the entire pile of candy was mango–flavored.

What a troublesome woman.

He was forced to order a housekeeper, “Bring over a glass of sugar water.”

“Yes, Mr. Foster.”

When the sugar water was brought over, Jeffrey pinched Natalie’s chin and poured it into her mouth. The liquid trickled down her chin, dripping steadily. She was forced to gulp down

several mouthfuls.

It was sweet.

After the sugar water dried, it clung to her skin. It felt sticky and unpleasant.

Couldn’t he just feed her properly with a spoon?

Thankfully, after a few mouthfuls of sugar water, Natalie gradually regained some strength, and her blurred vision slowly became clear again.

Abigail stood to the side, watching this scene. Her gaze darkened as she stepped forward. “Jeff, you’re being too rough. You should let me feed her instead.”

Then, she put a self–mocking smile on her face, saying in a lonesome tone, “You still care a lot

about Natalie.”

Jeffrey replied expressionlessly, “I’m just afraid she’ll die here. I don’t want her blood staining Foster Garden and ruining the place.”

Abigail was just about to say more when Chandler suddenly tugged at her arm. “I think it’s

best to let Natalie rest properly for now. Ms. Wright, we shouldn’t stay here and disturb them. Let’s go.”

Abigail’s expression changed drastically. Leave with Chandler? No, absolutely not!

“I’m not leaving,” Abigail said without hesitation.

She clung to Jeffrey’s arm. “Jeff, I want to stay with you.”

Jeffrey gently patted the back of her hand a few times. “Go back first. Let Chandler take you.”

Hearing that, Abigail’s face turned deathly pale.

Jeffrey said softly, “I’ll handle Felix’s matter. You don’t need to get involved anymore. I’ll make sure to give you an explanation.”

“But-” Abigail protested.

Chandler cut in, “No buts, Ms. Wright. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get home safely.”

Abigail started to tremble nervously, and Jeffrey immediately noticed it. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing. “She shook her head repeatedly at his question. Then, she said, “Jeff… I’ll take my leave, then.”

Chandler smiled faintly. “Ms. Wright, this way, please.”

Natalie lay half–reclined on the couch, looking listless. Only after she watched Chandler’s car drive out of Foster Garden did she say, “Jeffrey, I’ve already done what you wanted. What more do you want before you’ll let my brother go?”

Jeffrey stood by the living room window with his hands clasped behind his back. Standing tall and upright, he looked so calm and noble. “Natalie, I want you to agree to one thing.”
