Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 51
Chapter 51
Jeffrey felt that before he completely dissolved his marriage with Natalie, he could not take that final step with Abigail. He needed to be responsible for Abigail and protect her reputation.
The deeper the love, the more one should cherish it. Claiming it hastily was not the way.
Even though Abigail said she didn’t mind, Jeffrey did. He didn’t want her to be branded as a mistress.
Abigail walked into the main bedroom and came to his side. Then, she glanced out the window. “What? Natalie came so early.”
Jeffrey scoffed. “She wants to get someone out, so shouldn’t she show some sincerity?”
She asked tentatively, “Jeff, will you let Stephen go?”
He lowered his gaze to her. “What do you think?”
She replied, “Felix seemed very firm in not accepting any apology or mediation. He went to the hospital for a checkup, and they found that he’s experiencing a mild concussion. No one

Jeffrey pursed his lips together, saying nothing.
Abigail continued, “I can’t make decisions for Felix. If he refuses to forgive Stephen, then the only option is to file a lawsuit and go through the legal procedures.‘
She vaguely sensed that Jeffrey’s stance had softened. But why? Because of Natalie’s kneeling? Or was it because Natalie had tried to smash her own head?
But how could he possibly go easy on Natalie? Natalie was the one who tore Jeffrey and Abigail apart.
Natalie was kneeling quietly. She didn’t know how long she had been here, but her legs were completely numb and devoid of sensation.
The sun slowly rose, enveloping her in its light.
As she stared at the ground, a pair of men’s dress shoes suddenly appeared before her eyes. She jerked her head up. “Jeffrey,
me…”
Before she could finish, Jeffrey reached

she fell right into his arms.
Her nose slammed hard into his chest, drawing a sharp hiss of pain from her.
Jeffrey narrowed his eyes and demanded, “Natalie, was this part of your plan too?”
She was stunned. “What plan?”
He replied, “Your plan to reel me back in.”
She gaped in disbelief. “Reel you in?”
“During this period when our divorce is still being processed, you’ve been causing trouble every single day!” Jeffrey exclaimed.
Natalie felt exasperated. “So, Stephen hitting someone is my fault too? Did I instigate it?”
He replied, “He’s your brother. Isn’t it normal for you two to work together?”
She frowned. “So, for your sake, I should just watch my brother go to prison?”
“You’re here to save him, aren’t you?” Jeffrey retorted
Natalie sighed. “Whether or not he can be saved is still uncertain.”
She had already humbled herself enough, obeying and cooperating with Jeffrey. What more did he want?
He snorted and released her. “Keep kneeling.”
“Alright.” Natalie didn’t ask how long. She obeyed him unconditionally. After all, she had no bargaining chips at all.
Just then, Abigail came over with a cup of coffee. “Jeff, here’s your coffee. I ground the beans just now.”
Jeffrey took it. “You’re always so thoughtful, Ab.”
Abigail smiled. “I remember all your preferences.”
He said, “It’s already late morning. The sun’s strong, so you should go back inside.”
She replied, “I want to stay with you. And I also want to know what kind of answer you’re going to give Natalie.”
If Jeffrey insisted on pursuing this to the end, then Natalie could kneel herself to death and still have no chance of turning things around. On the other hand, if Jeffrey chose to protect Stephen, then the Wright family wouldn’t dare say a word.
Natalie lowered her eyes, looking at Jeffrey’s and Abigail’s pant legs, then at her own knees. Her head started to spin, and her vision blurred. She started to feel the symptoms of a low blood sugar level.

Chapter 51
She hadn’t eaten breakfast. Managing to kneel for this long was already quite the feat.
Her dizziness grew more severe, and Natalie’s body tipped uncontrollably to the side. But instead of the ground, she fell into someone’s arms. “Natalie, are you alright?”
