Divorced While Pregnant The Ex-Husband’s Collapse 45
Chapter 45
What did Felix do? What did he say?
Felix snorted coldly. “The bar had surveillance cameras. Your brother was the one who threw the first punch. It’s my mouth, so I can say whatever I want. Who is he to tell me what I can or can’t say? Is that a valid reason for him to cause trouble?”
Hearing that, Natalie more or less understood what had happened.
Felix must have said something extremely vile, enough to provoke Stephen. Add alcohol to the mix, and in a moment of impulse, Stephen had smashed a bottle and started a fight.
Natalie looked at Stephen.
Stephen said, “It really isn’t my fault this time. Natalie, he insulted you! I couldn’t just swallow that!”
Whether it was because the alcohol hadn’t worn off yet or because he was still burning in anger, Stephen’s eyes were bloodshot. They were so red it was unsettling.
Stephen said, “I was drinking with a bunch of my buddies, and everything was going great. Then, I realized Felix was in the booth next to mine.
“We were just minding our own business when he started acting all sarcastic, running his mouth about how favored Abigail is and how she’s about to marry Jeffrey.
“He even said you were an aging woman who couldn’t hold onto Jeffrey’s heart after five years, that no matter what you did,
it was useless.
“Then, he spread rumors, saying you’ve been drinking, eating, and even sleeping with clients when you go out networking recently. He also claimed you only managed to open your gallery because you latched onto Johnson…”
Stephen continued angrily, “Natalie, how was I supposed to hold back after hearing that? How could I just take it? Who the hell is he to point fingers at you?”
Natalie remained silent.
Why were the members of the Wright family so arrogant? In the end, weren’t they only in their position because of Jeffrey’s backing?
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on it, since the real problem was how she could mediate this situation.
Natalie no longer blamed Stephen. No matter how useless he might be, he was still her brother. His heart was in the right place, and he just wanted to protect her.
Meanwhile, Felix had truly gone too far.
After a long pause, Natalie asked, “So, you beat him into this state because of that?”
Stephen nodded. “Yes. Against someone like him, I could knock him down with one hand.”
Felix was covered in injuries, while Stephen was completely unscathed. It was obvious that Stephen had pinned Felix down and beaten him mercilessly.
Felix sneered arrogantly. “Just wait to be sued. I took one beating, but you’ll spend a few years in prison. That’s a bargain!” Stephen scoffed. “How could I possibly go to jail? Even if I beat you ten more times, I’d still be walking free!”
“You’re dreaming, Stephen.”
“My sister is legitimately Mrs. Foster, while your trashy cousin is nothing but a worn-out mistress. What’s so special about her? When it comes down to it, I refuse to believe Jeffrey would still side with your family!”

“Then, let’s wait and see. These days, Mr. Foster has been by Abigail’s side most of the time. He dotes on Abigail and stands with the Wright family. Let’s see how you and Natalie get out of this!”
Just as Stephen was about to start cursing again, Natalie said, “Felix, let’s settle this privately.”
This matter had to be de-escalated and handled under the table. If it were pursued seriously, then the first issue was that Stephen had thrown the first punch. The second would be that Jeffrey would never help her over Abigail-Natalie knew that
clearly.
“Settle this privately?” Felix scoffed, holding his head high. “Dream on. This has to go through legal channels. I’ll make sure not a single step is skipped!”
Natalie gritted her teeth and forced out a smile with all her effort. She walked over to Felix and bent slightly down, saying in a low, humble voice, “I apologize on my brother’s behalf. I’m sorry. Is that enough?”
