A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy’s Woman 100
Chapter 100
“Bad news, Ella. Mr. Whitman was just taken away by the police!”
Ella jumped to her feet. “What?”
Her hands were trembling as she exited the bank transfer screen, her heart pounding like crazy in her chest.
Did the police discover something?

“Officer, I’m the victim in this case. Why did you all take me here?” Axel said, feeling frustrated.
The police officer chuckled. “Calm down, Mr. Whitman. This is all just part of the routine. On the day that you lost your violin, what exactly were you doing?”
Axel’s eyes flickered. “In the morning, I rehearsed all day in the hall till noon. I was too tired after that. So, I took a nap and didn’t wake up until it was 5:00 pm.
“Then, I left my room and went out for a meal. After I got back to the hotel, I received a call from our band’s pianist, asking me to have a drink with her at the restaurant on the third floor.
‘A lot of people can confirm that. Half an hour later, I went back to my room.”
The police officer nodded repeatedly, showing that he understood. “Mr. Whitman, can you tell me who exactly was changing into a lady’s outfit in the stairwell, then?”
Axel’s eyes instantly narrowed when he saw the video. “T–This isn’t me!”
The officer responded sarcastically, “I didn’t say it was you, Mr. Whitman. That’s quite a big
reaction you’ve got there.
“Perhaps this is too far away, and you can’t get a good enough look. We had our IT colleagues clean up the footage. Give me a minute, and I’ll connect it to the TV so you can look at it again.

Axel was dumbfounded when he saw his face on the television with perfect clarity.
“Officer, let me explain. I did no such thing. This video has to be fake!” he exclaimed, slamming his palm against the cold metal table. “That’s right. This is fake! Officer, I would never sabotage my own violin!”
“What if you have a huge gambling debt, and you wanted to blackmail the hotel to extort

money? That’d make perfect sense, wouldn’t you say?”
Axel’s eyes widened in sheer surprise, his body trembling. But he quickly regained composure,
“This is nothing but speculation from your end. I’m going to lawyer up, and I won’t say a word until my attorney arrives.”
Silas leaned against the railing on the balcony. “I owe you one, Callan.”
Callan smiled faintly. “It’s no big deal. Whoever did this has really run themselves into the wall, though. Setting Bethany up was the wrong move.”
Silas snorted. “You said it.”
Regrettably, Bethany didn’t appreciate Silas the way she should. So, he had to hand the witness over to her and ask Callan to stall Axel’s lawyer appointment.
After all, Axel might come up with a new excuse and actually get away with it after meeting an
attorney.
Silas didn’t intend to let any one of them off the hook, be it the accomplices or the
mastermind.
Meanwhile, Ella was in complete panic after Axel was taken away by the police.
At the same time, Gary’s heart sank as he watched Reid Group’s shares plummet even more.
“Ella, please take the trending topic down. I’m begging you!”
Biting her lower lip in frustration, Ella snapped, “Dad, why do you always take her side? Is it because she got married, and her husband has clout?”
Gary’s chest heaved as he took a deep breath. “Ella, you’re being completely foolish! Bethany got married to Silas Brennan! Who else has the power to tank Reid Group’s stock?”
Ella widened her eyes in utter disbelief. 2
Silas Brennan? The Brennan family’s heir?
As it turned out, Bethany’s husband really was Silas.
