Ella was clearly annoyed. “Dad, why should I take down the trending post? Do you have any idea what Bethany did to me?”
She was already fed up with how strangely Gary had been behaving lately. He had taken Bethany’s side so many times that it made her feel like she wasn’t even his daughter.
“Dad, you can forget about it! If Bethany’s so tough, she can get it taken down herself!”
It was a massive headache for Gary, to say the least. A while later, he even received a call from Noah.
“Mr. Reid, don’t worry. Ella will never be mistreated as long as I’m looking out for her.”
Noah’s word merely added fuel to the fire.
Gary managed a stiff laugh and said, “Noah, Bethany and Ella share the same mother. Maybe cut her a little slack?”
Menace flashed in Noah’s gaze as he spoke. “Not happening!”
Bethany had to pay for her actions. If she had yielded to him, he would never have been turned
this angry.
This time, Noah wasn’t just standing up for Ella. He was also doing this for himself.
Noah wanted to see how long the man behind Bethany could remain cocky until reality hit him
in his face.
When she eventually realized that no one but Noah could protect her, she would come to regret betraying him.
Right now, she was all fire and defiance, and he intended to douse every bit of it.
Bethany didn’t let the unrelenting insults bother her. Instead, she devoted her energy to studying the video clip provided to her.
The lady smiled and said, “I was smoking when I took this video. I didn’t want my boyfriend to find out about my habit. So, I resorted to smoking in the emergency stairwell. I never thought I’d see a pervert.
“Why would a man slip into a lady’s outfit in the stairwell? Seeing the strange sight, I pulled out my phone and recorded the entire process.

Bethany gave the lady a profound look. “Miss, we’ll need to go back and study this video of yours. If it’s okay with you, send me a copy.
“I represent Elysian Hotel and promise you this—if what you captured is genuine, and there’s no sign of it having been tampered with, we will reward you in the future.”
“Fantastic! I love doing business with straightforward people like you. Here’s my number. Contact me when you’re done on your end,” the lady said, chuckling. “Also, the video is genuine. No one would care enough to frame a pervert for no reason!”
Bethany and John wore graceful smiles as they saw the lady off.
John was particularly excited when he spoke. “Ms. Porter, this has to be key evidence, right? How about we upload it to the internet now and show the netizens the truth?”
Bethany grinned calmly. “Take it easy. First, we’ll go to the police department. We should deal with this before dealing with the news online. Have some faith in the police force.”
As for Ella, Bethany didn’t mind making her pay for what she’d done afterward.
John nodded repeatedly. “You’re right, Ms. Porter. Let’s hit the road now!”
Ella was on top of the world. She browsed Instagram with her alternate account and reacted to every comment that insulted Bethany.
Watching Bethany get torn down due to her handiwork filled her with immense satisfaction.
When Axel’s name popped up on Ella’s screen, she froze momentarily before answering it.
“Hello?”
“I’ve done what you said. Where is my money?”
Ella’s gaze instantly darkened. “Fine. Calm down. I can’t transfer the money at a time like this. What if the police force finds out about it?”
“Give me cash, then!”
Ella had no choice. “I’ll transfer it to you in half an hour. Send me your bank account number.”
Needless to say, Axel would never have helped her if there wasn’t anything in it for him. He merely agreed to help set Bethany up because she found out about his huge gambling debt.
After all, he’d risked his reputation by doing this.
