A Mix-up Made Me His Enemy’s Woman 12

Chapter 12

Silas was surprisingly patient. He had two of his subordinates follow Bethany and help move her belongings out of her small

apartment.

That apartment had been left to her by Sarah. Back then, they had sold the old house and purchased this property with a bit of extra money from Bethany.

Sarah had said that it was to be a safety net. If Bethany ever got married and things didn’t work out, even if she ended divorced, she would still have a place to call home.

Every time Bethany thought of Sarah, her heart softened. Sarah was the only one who had ever truly been good to her in this

world.

Bethany placed her three suitcases in the guest room.

Jane Moses was a housekeeper at the Brennan residence and had been assigned to take care of Silas‘ daily needs. Silas wasn’t used to having someone hovering around him, so he arranged a separate unit next door for Jane to live in, treating it as her quarters. As such, many of the other housekeepers envied her for having such a good employer.

Jane took her job very seriously. “Mrs. Brennan, the master bedroom is next door. Did you put your luggage in the wrong room?” she asked.

Bethany felt a little awkward when she heard the way Jane addressed her. “No. I’m staying here.” Since Silas liked men and their marriage was only one of convenience, the most she could accept was living under the same roof while sleeping in separate rooms.

Jane took a look at Silas, who was busy in the study, and sighed inwardly. Then, she returned to her own place and sent a message to Jeremy. “Mrs. Brennan has moved in with Mr. Brennan, Mr. Brennan Senior. But they’re sleeping in separate rooms.”

Jeremy wasn’t surprised when he read that. He replied, “Alright. Thank you, Jane. I hope you’ll help me bring the two of them together.”

There was nothing else he could do. It seemed that Silas genuinely liked men.

All he could do was push them together while feeling deeply guilty toward Bethany. He didn’t think it was fair for her to marry Silas.
