Chapter 81
But before Genevieve could close the door, Stella pushed her small body through the gap.
Although she was small, she was unusually agile. Like a slippery eel, she squeezed herself in through the gap in the doorframe the moment Genevieve let go a little.
Genevieve frowned, but before she could react, the small figure had already rushed into the middle of the living room.
Stella surveyed the room as if she were on her own turf. Finally, her gaze landed on the handcrafted velvet couch that cost a pretty penny.
“You have such poor taste in decor,” said Stella.
She sneered and pursed her lips in disgust, yet she still sat on the couch without any hesitation. She even stepped on it with her leather shoes, leaving a pair of gray shoeprints on it.
She tossed her small shoulder bag aside and crossed her arms and legs, declaring, “From now on, this is my territory. The biggest room is mine. This couch is also mine. Also, I’m hungry. Make some food for me. I want premium steak, medium- rare, served with black truffle sauce.”
She rattled off orders as she always did.
Genevieve stood at the entryway, watching the absurd scene unfold before her eyes.
She had received a huge “gift” from Sylvia, and it was indeed quite substantial.
Just as Genevieve was thinking of a way to get rid of this “gift“, a door opened behind her, and Tristan came out of his
bedroom.
It seemed he had just taken a shower. He had a black bathrobe on with the ribbon tied loosely around his waist, leaving his sexy, sturdy chest and collarbone exposed. Water dripped from his hair, gliding down his chiseled jaw.
As he reached the space between the living room and the hallway, he stopped in his tracks.
He glanced at the cocky little girl on the couch, then slowly looked at Genevieve, who was still standing barefoot at the door.
Tristan sneered, clearly ready to watch the drama unfold as he asked, “Did you get yourself a new troublemaker?”
Genevieve felt infuriated for some reason.
So he did know that he was nothing but a troublemaker for her as well. His wounds had almost healed by now, yet he still shamelessly refused to leave her apartment.
Her expression grew frosty. She was about to say something, but just then, Stella noticed the man who had suddenly appeared.
Her eyes instantly lit up. Tristan was way better looking than all the celebrities she had ever met.
It had only been a year since Tristan had returned to the Lambert family, and Stella wasn’t around during that time. She had been raised in her uncle’s house, and her aunt was a moderately well–known pianist. Naturally, she had no idea that Tristan was her half–brother.
“Hello, sir. Were you locked up by this bad woman too?” Stella asked, pointing an accusatory finger at Genevieve.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here to save you! From now on, I’ll stay here and protect you. If she has the guts to bully you, I’ll beat her up for you!” Stella added.
Tristan looked down at the little girl volunteering to be his guardian, a hint of interest in his eyes. Then, he glanced up at Genevieve, shooting her a meaningful look.

Genevieve’s expression grew stormy.
It finally hit her–out of the pair of “strangers” staying under her roof, one was here to watch the show, and the other was
here to put one on.
It was just perfect.
Since Sylvia wanted to play, Genevieve would humor her.
And Tristan wanted to watch the performance, didn’t he? Genevieve didn’t mind getting the front–row seats with him.
She took a deep breath and suddenly put on a smile.
She could tell that Stella liked Tristan very much. She gracefully walked up to Tristan and wrapped her arm around his affectionately, pressing her soft body against him.
Then, she looked up at Tristan and said with a grin, “Darling, you’re done with your shower? Look–this girl was sent over by the Lamberts. They said no one wants her anymore, so they want us to help take care of her.”
