Chapter 37
“Is this your friend?” William asked Scarlet.
His tone was as arrogant as ever, but it still made Scarlet relax. She shook her head. “No.”
“And yet, you’re chatting up a storm,” William said. “You’re such a flirt.”
Scarlet couldn’t help but argue, “I’m not a flirt.”
“Okay, fine. You aren’t a flirt,” William said, seemingly giving in to her.
His right arm was wrapped around Scarlet’s waist. It looked like a natural, intimate act, but it was full of dominance.
William looked up and glanced at the man in front of him. It looked like a casual glance, but it was full of a cold, unnerving sort of pressure that immediately made Blaine break out in a cold sweat.
“Who are you?” William asked breezily.
Blaine answered politely, “My name is Blaine Wright. We met at Lumine Mountain before.”
“Lumine Mountain?” William didn’t seem to remember Blaine. “Doesn’t ring a bell.”
Blaine’s smile seemed a little stiff. “Mr. Cooper, you’re busy, so I can understand your forgetfulness.”
Blaine only met them on Lumine Mountain due to a coincidence. He had gone there with some friends on a camping trip, and he never thought that William would have the time to go up to Lumine Mountain in the middle of the night with his newlywed wife.
Blaine naturally had to greet him. The Wright family was nothing in Lebavia, so William naturally wouldn’t have taken him seriously. After a brief, stiff conversation, he brought Scarlet away with him.
It was the transition between winter and spring, so it was rather cold in the mountains at night. Scarlet had been wrapped up in her coat, and she had a hat on. Only her fair face with red cheeks could be seen.
Blaine had been taken aback by her beauty. She truly did live up to her reputation.
Later on, when he reached his camping grounds, he realized how far it was from William’s tent. As expected of William. He’d booked a huge area far away from everywhere else so he would have privacy.
Blaine didn’t want to intrude, but he was rather dizzy after a few drinks with his friends. When he walked back after a quick toilet break, it was dark, and he eventually lost his way back to his tent. He happened to stumble across William’s tent instead.
Since William had booked the whole area, it was extremely quiet. Blaine could hear a woman’s faint whimpering. It sounded like she was trying to silence herself by biting her lip, but couldn’t help the sounds that slipped out anyway.
He could hear a low, masculine voice a little more clearly. It was gentle and full of mirth. He gently said some incredibly shameful things, clearly coaxing his partner into doing something.
The moment Blaine realized what was happening, the fog in his mind immediately cleared.
There was only one tent in the area, and only one light hanging outside it. The figures inside were blurry and could barely be
seen.
Blaine wasn’t born yesterday. He obviously knew what they were getting up to.
He never thought that William, who had always been known as the Cooper family’s poised, elegant heir, was just like every other man in bed.
The moment he realized he was in the wrong camping zone, he walked back toward his tent, but he could still hear the woman’s faint moans coming from the tent. It was quiet, gentle, and mellow, and there was a hint of a pleading whine in her
