Married at First Sight Chapter 1722

It’s not about work.
Serenity’s beautiful eyes sparkled as she asked him again, “What’s wrong? You said we are husband and wife, and there’s nothing to hide. You also promised that no matter what happens in the future, you will never keep anything from me again.”
“Wife,” Zachary replied quietly, “I was teased.”
Serenity was taken aback.
Had she heard him correctly?
Who would dare to tease Zachary?
He wore a stern expression all day, radiating an aura that kept strangers at bay, and a team of bodyguards accompanied him everywhere, ensuring no one approached him without permission.
It seemed impossible for anyone to tease him.
After considering it, Serenity asked, “Was it a man? Is he gay and interested in you?”
Serenity reasoned that only someone of the same sex would be permitted to approach Zachary, giving them a chance to flirt.
After a pause, Zachary, still speaking softly, responded, “It was a woman. I was discussing business with a client tonight. Mr. Dawson’s female secretary, Analia—his only daughter—flirted with me when we shook hands.”
He then released Serenity’s hand, raised the right hand that Analia had touched, and complained to his wife, “Wife, it’s this hand that was flirted with.”
Seeing his aggrieved yet disgusted expression, Serenity found it both amusing and slightly annoying.
Although the couple had not yet held a wedding, their relationship had been officially announced. Who didn’t know they were a legal couple?
Gazing at his handsome face and admiring his suit and leather shoes, she realized he was mature, calm, shrewd, and capable—all words that described a successful individual. He exuded an air of dignity. Such an exceptional man.

The man was a magnet in his own right, easily drawing attention wherever he went. It was common for someone to be attracted to him and fall in love, just as she had. However, it was unusual for no one to like him; after all, most people are drawn to beauty. He was undeniably beautiful, which typically endears people to him.

Serenity held his right hand, examined his palm, and smiled as she asked, “Shall I wash your hands for you?” Zachary remained silent but nodded in agreement. Serenity led him to the bathroom, applied hand sanitizer to his palm, scrubbed it thoroughly, and rinsed it repeatedly at the sink.

After a moment, she remarked, “It’s been cleaned thoroughly, without a trace left behind.” Despite her efforts, Zachary’s handsome face remained tense. Serenity then guided him to sit on the sofa in the study.

Turning to him, she asked, “Are you still angry?” She gently touched his face, pinching it playfully twice. “Whether it’s a man or a woman, being too good-looking can lead to trouble.”

Zachary replied, “Appearance is natural but not perfect; what can I do? You can’t disfigure yourself because of some unworthy individuals.”

“Of course not! Why would you change yourself for others?” Serenity lifted his right hand, kissed his palm, and added, “I’ll help you erase any trace of that woman. Don’t look so disgusted; you can’t just chop off your right hand.”

Zachary remarked, “By the way, Ms. Dawson is quite bold. She even dared to tease me. Aren’t you usually accompanied by Jim and the others? You typically don’t bring young women to business meetings.”

Everyone was aware of Zachary’s preferences; those who wished to discuss business with him typically refrained from bringing a young and attractive secretary, often opting for a male secretary or their wives instead.

“Already married? Who would have thought that… married men are not safe?” Serenity laughed and replied, “It’s even more dangerous for married men. You’re mature, stable, and successful in your career, which makes you attractive to many young women. They often shout the slogan of pursuing true love, disregarding the fact that you are someone else’s husband, and they interfere in other people’s marriages.”
