Chapter 1636
Having been husband and wife for quite some time, Serenity understood the meaning behind his gaze.
She quickly glanced at the driver and the bodyguard in the passenger seat. Neither of them had turned their heads; the driver was focused on the road, while the bodyguard was engrossed in his phone.
This was the bodyguard’s way of protecting himself.
If he occupied himself with videos or novels on his phone, he could easily divert his attention from what his boss and the missus were discussing.
Serenity leaned in and gave Zachary a quick kiss.
Only then did he ease his grip on her. He quietly insisted, “I want to receive your love letter before I head to work tomorrow.”
“Of course! Definitely,” Serenity assured him with a smile.
“Remy came to pick up Elisa as well. They actually get along quite well.”
Zachary nodded. “Remy might be leaving Wiltspoon for a while.”
“Why? Is he going on a business trip?”
Serenity couldn’t help but ask, especially since Remy had feelings for Elisa.
“Did you forget? Mrs. Young-Johnson is about to give birth. After the baby arrives, Remy will certainly want to visit his nieces and nephews. He might see the babies in the hospital, but once Mrs. Young-Johnson is discharged and back home, it won’t be convenient for him to visit.”
“That’s why he’s leaving early and staying there for several days. He’ll probably wait until his sister-in-law is discharged and then return to Wiltspoon, only to go back again for the sip and see shower.”
Serenity smiled and replied, “You’re right. I completely forgot about that.”
Would Jane have two sons, two daughters, or one of each?
After Jane gave birth, she and Zachary would also attend the sip and see shower.
She
Remy wanted to seek some luck from Jane. Meanwhile, Zachary and Serenity were engaged in a conversation about their daily lives, making it difficult for Remy and Elisa to communicate as they drove in separate cars. Upon arriving at a hotel under the Stone Group, they settled into a private room that Remy had reserved in advance. Remy then turned to Elisa and said, “Elisa, I need to go to Annenburg tomorrow.”
Elisa was taken aback and asked, “Is this a family matter?” She had never visited the Johnsons’ house or met his family before.
“My sister-in-law is about to give birth, and I want to go back to visit her,” Remy explained.
Elisa smiled and replied, “Aren’t you only returning after the baby is born?”
“I haven’t been home in quite a while. I should go back and spend time with my family. My grandparents have been nagging me since I rarely visit this year,” Remy said, looking at Elisa affectionately.
In the past, he would go home twice a month and stay for several days. Sometimes, he would only return to Wiltspoon to work after his brother insisted. However, since falling in love with Elisa, Remy had rarely gone home, particularly after Andrew’s arrival. Although nothing had transpired between Andrew and Elisa, Remy was aware that Andrew had visited the Stone family’s house twice afterward.
On both occasions, Mrs. Stone had experienced a minor accident and was brought home by Andrew after a chance meeting with him. Remy didn’t believe this was mere coincidence; it was clear that Mrs. Stone was eager to connect Andrew and Elisa.
