Chapter 1624
Sonny was stubborn.
When Hank spoke poorly of Dunc in front of Sonny, Sonny firmly maintained that Dunc was intimidating. Yet,
Dunc was not a bad person. No matter what his father said, Sonny refused to alter his
view of Dunc.
To Sonny, there was a distinct line between good and bad individuals. He would never label a bad person as good, nor the opposite.
“I’m not unhappy. Something just crossed my mind,”
Liberty smiled. “See? I’m smiling.”
The child was perceptive and astute.
Seeing his mother smile, Sonny felt reassured that she was not upset with his earlier comments.
“Mom, did Dunc really say he wants to marry you and make you his wife?” Sonny asked, feeling relieved from before.
Liberty was taken aback.
Duncan had actually shared everything with Sonny.
At Sonny’s age, would he truly grasp the situation?
Even if Sonny could accept Duncan as a father figure, that wouldn’t sway Liberty’s feelings.
“Dunc was just joking with you. You don’t need to take it to heart.”
Sonny nodded in understanding. “So, Dunc was just joking.”
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to Aunt Ser’s house.”
Liberty stood up and took her son’s hand again, planning to take him to her
sister’s home.
“Okay.”
Sonny had grown accustomed to waking up at Serenity’s house every day.
Liberty intended to head to Zachary’s hilltop villa, but she halted her e-bike due to low battery. If the battery died while she was riding, it would create a hassle.
She decided to drive her new car to take her son to the hilltop villa.
Serenity had just finished her call with Jasmine.
Jasmine had readily agreed to the increase in investment and the purchase of land for building an office. She said, “Seren,
“I have complete trust in both you and Elisa. Once you make a decision, just let me know. I’m perfectly fine with it.”
Serenity had known Jasmine for over ten years. They were so close that they didn’t mind sharing the same pants.
Elisa was the wealthy young lady of the Stones, and she was kind as well as Serenity’s cousin. Jasmine was confident that Elisa would never deceive a business partner like her.
“Missus.”
Sam approached Serenity and said, “Missus, Ms. Hunt has arrived.”
Serenity acknowledged Sam before she stood up and walked away.
As she stepped out of the house, she encountered Liberty and Sonny.
“Liberty,” Serenity called out, then picked up her nephew and kissed him on the cheek.
Sonny had always been close to Serenity. After she kissed him, he eagerly returned the gesture.
Soon, a strong arm enveloped Serenity.
Sonny couldn’t see Zachary’s face because his head was pressed against Zachary’s shoulder as he hugged Serenity.
In the midst of Sonny’s confusion, he heard Serenity say to Zachary, “Sonny is here.”
Zachary was unaware that Sonny was present.
Once Sonny finally caught sight of Zachary’s handsome face, he noticed that Serenity was blushing.
Sonny blinked his wide eyes, puzzled by the situation.
When he had just kissed Serenity, she hadn’t blushed as deeply as she was now.
“Sonny, let me tell you something.”
Moments ago, Zachary had placed several kisses on Serenity’s face to erase the marks Sonny had left. What a domineering man!
