Chapter 1596
Amy and Brenda could not tolerate seeing Camryn succeed.
Camryn had already taken charge of Newman Enterprise, a fact Serenity was aware of because Zachary had informed her.
Camryn recognized that her subtle maneuvers were clear to the Yorks. She did not intentionally conceal anything during her conversation with Serenity.
She stated, “No one can take what belongs to my brother and me.”
Camryn would not seize everything from the Newman family; she planned to pass her brother’s share to him once he was mature enough to manage it.
As for Carrie, Camryn had never considered her.
“Let us know if you need assistance. We’re here to help in any way we can.”
“Thank you. I can manage for now. Dal is helping me as well.” There was also Callum.
Camryn desperately wanted to separate herself from Callum. She didn’t want to owe him a favor, but she had to admit that without his support, her situation would be much more challenging. Ultimately, she still owed him a significant debt.
That guy was becoming increasingly domineering, keeping her on a tight leash.
Camryn felt powerless in his presence.
“Callum can assist you too.”
Camryn remained silent.
Speak of the devil.
Callum arrived at the florist.
He was holding a bouquet, but it wasn’t made of real flowers; it was a bouquet of hundred-dollar bills.
Noticing her brother-in-law’s arrival, Serenity turned to Camryn and said, “Camryn, I need to deliver my flowers. Let’s catch up another day.”
“Okay.”
Camryn had also heard the familiar sound of Callum’s footsteps and forced herself to see Serenity off with composure.
“Serenity,” Callum called out.
“Hey, your brother is still at the office, right?”
Callum replied, “Yes, he is. I got off work early.”
Serenity
She smiled and told Camryn that she didn’t need to see her off. Then, she got into her car and drove away. Callum only handed the bouquet of money to Camryn after his sister-in-law left.
“This is for you,” he said.
“I have plenty of flowers in my shop; I don’t need you to give me more,” Camryn replied, preparing to return the money bouquet to him.
“Just give it a touch. My bouquet is different from the flowers in your shop,” he insisted.
Camryn instinctively reached out to touch the flowers. After feeling them, she felt even more determined to refuse the bouquet. She no longer needed money, and he didn’t have to give it to her disguised as a bouquet of dollar bills.
“If you refuse, I’ll throw it in the trash,” he threatened.
Camryn was left speechless.
“Refusing the flowers means you think my bouquet isn’t big enough. I’ll just make a bigger one for you until you agree to accept it,” he continued.
Camryn’s expression darkened. “Callum, you’re so shameless.”
“I’m shameless, and I’ve decided to stick to you. What are you going to do about it?”
Camryn was at a loss for words. If she weren’t blind, she would have definitely kicked him. What a bully.
“You’ve always been described as gentle and cultured, Mr. Callum,” she remarked.
“That’s how others perceive me. How many people in the business world are truly well-mannered? They’re all ruthless and heartless. Besides…”
Callum stepped closer to Camryn, leaning in as if to kiss her soft lips. He said in a husky voice, “Being shameless is the only effective way to deal with you.”
Camryn was so angry that she felt like hitting him.
