Chapter 1588
“You need to prioritize your sleep. Your health is more important than anything else,” Liberty expressed with concern.
“I’m fine, Liberty.”
Serenity hadn’t gotten enough rest the previous night due to her attention-seeking husband, and she wasn’t keen on discussing what transpired in their bedroom.
“Has Jessica been released?” Serenity asked suddenly.
Liberty paused for a moment before replying, “She’s pregnant.”
“She had just conceived before her arrest. While in jail, her mood was poor, and she only discovered the pregnancy recently. It’s been three months now, and Hank is helping her apply for bail.”
However, Jessica would still face sentencing after giving birth.
Serenity remarked, “Her child arrived just in time.”
Hank still had feelings for Jessica.
Despite pressure from his parents and sister to divorce Jessica, he resisted.
He also wanted Liberty to write a letter of understanding to help Jessica receive a lighter sentence.
Hank understood that even if he divorced Jessica, Liberty would not return to him.
His family was simply too naïve.
They always believed that Liberty would do anything for her son and would agree to remarry Hank if he proposed.
‘So naïve,’ he thought about his parents.
Additionally, Duncan was openly pursuing Liberty, so even if Liberty were single, she wouldn’t go back to Hank.
Liberty had made it clear that she would never remarry Hank.
Hank felt regret and yearned for Liberty, but he had no chance.
He couldn’t compete with Duncan.
Duncan had also won over Sonny, and the two got along very well.
There was no way for Hank to rekindle his relationship with Liberty. Furthermore, Jessica was forced to endure pain.
Sonny was the reason for Hank’s feelings of sympathy toward Jessica. Knowing that Jessica was pregnant, Hank quickly assisted her in applying for bail and took her home. The apartment where Hank and Liberty had previously lived had been renovated. After Jessica’s release, they ceased renting the other apartment and moved into their own home. However, Mrs. Brown refused to return to her hometown and insisted on living with the couple. As a result, Mr. Brown had to stay as well. Even if Jessica was released from prison during her pregnancy, she would still face challenges.
“She’ll still have a hard time,” Liberty remarked calmly.
“That’s karma. She deserves it!” Serenity replied, showing no sympathy for Jessica whatsoever.
Since Hank’s family had moved into the renovated house, Old Mr. and Mrs. Hunt were no longer needed. However, the Browns were not enjoying a peaceful life. Hank had not visited Sonny for quite some time, and he lacked both the time and inclination to bother Liberty. Consequently, Serenity asked Noah to take their grandparents back to their hometown. Naturally, Serenity compensated them for their efforts, as the three of them allowed Liberty to maintain a peaceful life.
At that moment, Duncan entered the diner.
“Liberty, does Duncan still come here for breakfast every day?” Serenity asked, winking at her sister.
Liberty lightly pinched Serenity’s arm. “Stop winking at me! You’re Zachary York’s wife now, so you should act like it.”
Serenity mumbled something, but Liberty couldn’t hear her clearly.
