he parked at the entrance of the villa and stopped.
Before stepping out of the car, Jasmine noticed two rows of people standing in front of the house.
There were around twenty individuals present, including maids, a chauffeur, and bodyguards hired by Josh to assist.
Jasmine remarked quietly, “There are so many people. It seems like there are more here than in your family.”
She recalled that her in-laws employed far fewer servants.
Josh unbuckled his seatbelt and replied, “They’ve been specially hired to serve you. Over twenty might not seem like a lot, but I can hire a few more if needed. All of them are experienced in their roles and will take excellent care of you.”
Jasmine was taken aback. How could over twenty people be considered few?
Her own family was well-off, but they didn’t employ maids. They only hired a handful of part-timers to help with spring cleaning during the holidays.
For major events, Jasmine’s parents typically handled everything themselves. As her mother often said, without housework to do, they would just spend their days counting their money.
“You’ve been to Wildridge Manor. The Yorks employ a vast number of servants. Their family divides tasks meticulously, which results in nearly a thousand workers in the manor.”
Josh believed that since they had just married and it was only the two of them, they didn’t need so many attendants for the time being. He planned to hire a few nannies once they had more family members.
Jasmine chose not to respond further.
“Let’s get out and meet everyone. You’ll be their missus from now on,” Josh said.
Since his parents would not be living with them, he and Jasmine would be in charge of the villa.
“Sir, madam,” a voice greeted as the couple exited the car.
The two rows of people standing in front of the house greeted them respectfully under the butler’s direction. Jasmine responded with a smile. “Sir, madam, dinner is ready,” the butler announced politely. Josh replied gently, “We’re not accustomed to having people serve us during dinner. You’re dismissed.” The butler waved his hand, and the servants dispersed in an orderly fashion. Only the butler remained, following the couple into the house.
