people.
Zachary’s fleet skillfully avoided the traffic and parked in a secluded area to avoid drawing attention. Noticing the crowd, he instructed his bodyguards, “Stay in the cars and don’t follow us. There are too many people here, and your presence will attract too much attention.”
Since they were at a school, Zachary preferred to maintain a low profile and not capture the students’ interest. He and Josh exited the vehicle together and headed toward the bookstore. Initially, Zachary was holding a bouquet, but after a few steps, he remembered it and promptly returned to the car to leave it behind.
Josh waited for him in the same spot, and when Zachary came back, he teased, “Why don’t you hold the bouquet and wave it around? Plenty of people are watching now.”
“It’s easy to say, but this isn’t the right place,” Zachary replied. The audience here was different, and he believed it was best to remain inconspicuous around the students. Ideally, he wished that no one recognized him.
However, that was quite challenging. Zachary and Serenity’s love story had long been hot news in Wiltspoon, and almost everyone was aware of them. Students, frequently glued to their phones, were more informed than adults. Zachary’s identity was well-known among the students who often visited the bookstore.
Fortunately, Zachary’s serious and cold demeanor made him come across as stricter than their dean. As a result, none of the female students were attracted to him; instead, they felt sympathy for Serenity for marrying such a stern and indifferent man. Zachary would likely be speechless if he knew how the students perceived his marriage.
Serenity.
He knew that the bookstore would suffer if he showed up.
Zachary, being sensible, stood at the door and waited until the students had left with their purchases before entering.
Josh, sweeter than Zachary and more inclined to smile, confidently walked into the store to offer his assistance.
Jasmine was delighted to see Josh.
With a smile, she asked, “What brings you here?”
“I came to pick you up from work so we can head home for dinner. We can also stop by our new house on the way.”
