“Urgent. I have some free time tonight since I don’t have any social engagements. Since you haven’t eaten yet, I thought I’d invite you to dinner. What do you think?”
Zachary replied in a deep voice, “Unfortunately, I have social obligations tonight and won’t be able to make it. It’s best to schedule an appointment with me in advance if you’d like to invite me for dinner next time.”
Disappointed, Remy chuckled, “That’s too bad. When will you be available, Mr. York? Let’s have dinner together.”
“Are you planning to return to Annenburg, Mr. Johnson? I’m taking my wife there for a trip next week. If you decide to come back, perhaps you could invite us for dinner then.”
Remy paused for a moment before responding, “I don’t have plans to go back to Annenburg right now. Are you visiting next week, Mr. York? I’ll let my brother know so he can welcome you when you arrive.”
Zachary replied politely, “I apologize for any inconvenience to both of you.”
He intended to take Serenity on a relaxing trip, hoping to foster a friendship between Serenity and Jane, while also planning to visit Ben and Jane.
“It’s no trouble at all,” Remy said with a smile. “I’ll leave you to it, Mr. York. I’ll inform my brother so he can make the necessary arrangements.”
Jane was due to give birth in July, but since she was pregnant with twins, she might deliver early in June.
It was already April, and Jane had rarely left the house. Ben wasn’t fully committed to running the company, as he spent all his time by his wife’s side, waiting for their two children to arrive.
Just after concluding his conversation with Remy, Zachary was asked a question by his friend.
“You’re taking your wife on vacation next week?”
“Yes, that’s the plan. Seren will be too anxious to leave while…”
Liberty is still in the hospital, but the good news is that Seren will be ready for a trip once Liberty is discharged next week. Zachary has been busy with work in recent nights, trying to finish up loose ends. Only then can he take some time off to join his wife on a trip to help relieve Serenity’s stress and keep her from worrying about infertility.
“I won’t be working next week,” Josh reminded his friend, expressing concern that the company’s responsibilities would fall to him while Zachary took time off with his wife.
Zachary glanced at Josh and chuckled, “Don’t worry; it won’t interfere with your wedding. My wife and I will be back before your big day. After all, we are good friends with both of you, not to mention we were your matchmakers. We wouldn’t miss your wedding for anything.”
