and ensured no one could overhear her. After she spoke, she cast a glance at Remy. Mrs. Stone did not invite Remy to join the meal, but he was accustomed to scavenging for food. He didn’t require an invitation from Mrs. Stone and automatically followed the Stones into the dining hall. The maids dared not deny Remy his utensils. With Elisa present, Mrs. Stone refrained from expressing her dissatisfaction toward Remy and remained only mildly unenthusiastic. Elisa was taken aback and, upon Grandma May’s suggestion, looked at Remy as well. The elderly lady gently patted the back of Elisa’s hand once more. It wasn’t that the spirited Stone girl didn’t meet Grandma May’s standards; rather, she was not favored by her grandsons, which is why Grandma May never considered her when selecting potential granddaughters-in-law. Additionally, the Stones and the Yorks had been business rivals in the past. If Serenity hadn’t unexpectedly become Mrs. Stone’s niece, the two families’ relationship would have never improved. Elisa had long been infatuated with Zachary, and after learning about his relationship with Serenity, everyone witnessed her reaction and demeanor. That girl was quite perceptive. Serenity sincerely wished for Elisa to find her own happiness. Grandma May believed Remy would be a good match for Elisa. Remy had even previously asked Grandma May to recommend a suitable girl to him if she encountered one. However, Remy didn’t require Grandma May’s concern, as he already had someone in mind. “Grandma May,” Elisa said softly, “Remy and I are friends.” They simply got along well. The old woman smiled without saying anything further.

“I’ll play poker with you whenever I’m free in the future,” Mrs. Stone agreed with Grandma May.
Despite their past, they had become family.
Family bonds grow stronger when members make an effort to visit one another.
As a representative of Serenity’s family, Mrs. Stone needed to support Serenity and engage more with the York family to counter any rumors about Serenity’s relationship with her in-laws.
“Okay,” Grandma May replied with a smile.
“Let’s go have our meal,” Mrs. Stone suggested once more.
Grandma May nodded in agreement and only stood up after Mrs. Stone did.
Elisa, being the closest to Grandma May, stepped forward to assist her.
Grandma May allowed Elisa to support her slightly and smiled, saying, “I can still walk quickly without a cane.”
Though she owned a cane, it was mainly used for swatting people. Her history in martial arts and her unique background in her youth had contributed to her good health.
Her daughters-in-law could hardly keep up with her during hikes.
“You won’t need a cane even in eight to ten years, Grandma May,” Elisa said with a grin. “Once Serenity and the others have children, they’ll be climbing all over the place. You might find yourself using that cane to chase after those mischievous kids!”
Grandma May envisioned herself wielding a cane while chasing her great-grandchildren and couldn’t help but smile widely.
She gently patted Elisa’s hand.
Elisa looked at her curiously.
“There are many wonderful men out there. Listen to your heart, and you’ll discover that the one who suits you best is right beside you,” Grandma May whispered to Elisa confidentially.
