Married at First Sight Chapter 1498

Chapter 1498
1/2
Callum observed Dalton returning Camryn to her home.
Before Camryn arrived, Callum instructed his bodyguard to drive away from the Newmans’ villa. However, after a moment of contemplation, he exited the car halfway and walked back, planning to wait for her at her residence’s entrance.
Dalton was unfamiliar with Callum, so he did not recognize him from behind as he drove Camryn home.
When Dalton left, Callum was only a hundred meters from the Newmans’ villa and saw Camryn stepping out of Dalton’s car.
Initially worried about Camryn, Callum’s thoughts spiraled out of control upon witnessing the scene. The more he contemplated it, the angrier and more jealous he became.
What was the nature of her relationship with that man?
She had spent the entire afternoon and evening with him.
“Tell me, who is he?” Callum demanded.
Camryn remained silent and attempted to walk past him.
Callum grabbed her wrist, pulling her back.
She struggled to free herself from his strong grip, but he held on tightly.
“Please let go!”
Callum studied her for a long moment before his tone softened. “Camryn, I’m sorry. If you’re still angry with me, feel free to slap me. You can hit my cheeks until they’re swollen to teach me a lesson.
“I promise I won’t treat you that way again. I won’t do anything without your consent.
“Camryn, I don’t view you as just a task. After getting to know you, I genuinely like you. Setting aside my nana’s assignment, I believe I’m developing feelings for you. It’s because I like you that I feel jealous when I see you with another man.
“But you said we have nothing to do with each other, so I— I was wrong, Camryn. You can hit me if you want.”

“Please scold me if you must, but don’t turn away from me like this, alright?”

“Don’t turn off your phone. My thoughts will spiral if I can’t reach you. I worry about you getting into an accident somewhere. I couldn’t concentrate on work all day; you were the only thing on my mind.”

Callum’s apology was tinged with a confession.

He wouldn’t dare admit he was in love with Camryn, but he acknowledged that he genuinely enjoyed being with her.

He also found great pleasure in teasing her.

Initially, he likely viewed her as a task assigned by his grandmother.

However, after being reprimanded by his sister-in-law, he realized one crucial thing—he had developed feelings for Camryn.

If he didn’t care about her, he wouldn’t be bothered by the thought of her being intimate with another man.

His jealousy compelled him to kiss her forcefully.

Callum prided himself on being well-educated and would never have imagined doing something as disrespectful as forcing himself on a woman.

Yet, that’s exactly what he did—he kissed her without her consent.

Camryn couldn’t see it, but his actions must have made her feel bullied.

He didn’t respect her.

She must have felt like he was treating her as a mere toy.

He had never toyed with women.

From the moment he laid eyes on her photo, and his grandmother declared her to be his chosen wife, he had treated her as such, despite his initial reluctance.

Camryn’s expression remained calm and composed.

After patiently waiting for Callum to finish, she fell silent for a long time before softly saying, “Mr. York, it’s quite late now. I’m tired and would like to rest. Please leave, okay?”
