Mr. and Mrs. Newman expressed their gratitude towards him and invited him into their home for tea. The staff of the Newman family recognized Callum from previous visits.
“Are you here for Ms. Camryn, Mr. York? She hasn’t returned yet, and I doubt she will be back soon. She’s been spending most of her time at her flower shop,” one of the servants informed him.
Callum nodded in acknowledgment. “I’ll leave my number with you. Please contact me when she returns; I have something urgent to discuss with her.”
The maid readily agreed. The staff sensed that a change in leadership was on the horizon. Callum provided the maid with his cell phone number, which she noted down. After that, he instructed the bodyguard to drive him back to his villa.
He asked the bodyguard to make a stop at Spring Blossoms first, but Camryn was not there either. Upon arriving, he found that Spring Blossoms had not yet closed. He wandered through the shop and even checked the small room inside, but Camryn was nowhere to be found. He assumed she might have gone home, but she was not there either. Where could she be?
Shortly after Callum departed, Dalton and Camryn returned.
“I won’t go inside. For now, keep our connection a secret until you have full control of Newman Enterprise,” Dalton advised.
Mr. Newman had been at the helm of Newman Enterprise for over twenty years, and he had established a network of trusted aides within the company. Dalton, who was five years older than Camryn and worked for her, had joined Newman Enterprise right after graduating from university to assist her. However, with only nine years of experience compared to Mr. Newman’s decades, he was not as seasoned.
Yet, to outsiders, Dalton appeared to be Mr. Newman’s most trusted confidant. Mr. Newman had observed and evaluated Dalton for many years before placing his trust in him.
after concluding that Dalton was fully dedicated to the future of Newman Enterprise.
