Married at First Sight Chapter 1476

Chapter 1476
She had not heard from her family since settling the issue surrounding the house left by her parents.
Whenever they discussed their hometown, it was solely her sister who spoke about the progress of her vegetable farms.
Serenity anticipated that their vegetable farms would be ready for planting by early June, and she intended to start with a batch of spinach, cabbage, lettuce, eggplants, peppers, and more.
Serenity had more knowledge about which vegetables to grow compared to Elisa and Jasmine, so she took charge of deciding what to plant and how to manage them.
Jasmine and Elisa handled the business aspects, including signing orders.
“Let them in.”
Liberty preferred to avoid contact with her family, but since they were her elders who had come a long way, she instructed the bodyguard to allow them entry.
Noah arrived with their grandparents.
The elderly couple entered first, followed by Noah, who carried a bag of fruits.
Sonny was still asleep, prompting Liberty to retreat to the small lounge. Upon seeing the trio enter, she paused for a moment before greeting her grandparents.
“Liberty.”
Noah placed the bag of fruits on the coffee table and greeted her.
Liberty responded with a hum and invited all three to sit down.
“How are you, Liberty? Why didn’t you inform us when something like this happened?” Old Mr. Hunt inquired about Liberty’s injury, his concern evident.
Old Mrs. Hunt also wanted to express her worries. Although her mouth opened, she ultimately said nothing and instead pursed her lips.
She felt a distance from the Hunt sisters now.
They had initially clashed fiercely, and even though the situation was resolved, the elderly couple preferred to avoid creating further tension and chose to live quietly at Scott’s house. Nevertheless, they still felt unable to approach Liberty.

Serenity. They could not pretend that nothing had happened.

In Old Mrs. Hunt’s heart, she always felt that her two granddaughters, especially Serenity, were ungrateful. Serenity had married into the wealthiest family in Wiltspoon and had become their matriarch, yet she failed to assist her cousins from her maiden family. Her sole focus was on her own enjoyment.

Not only did Serenity neglect to help her cousins, but even her grandmother could not share in her good fortune.

If any other granddaughter of Old Mrs. Hunt had married into a rich family, she believed she would be revered by others and bask in endless glory and splendor.

Unfortunately, their original plan for Harriet to take Serenity’s place had fallen apart. Somehow, Harriet’s appearance had morphed to resemble that of her eldest granddaughter. Their grandchildren suspected that their scheme had been exposed, leading to its failure after Zachary turned the tables.

They had come to the city now because Serenity had invited them to address matters with the Brown family.

In return, Serenity promised her grandparents the money that their sons paid for rent as living expenses.

Old Mrs. Hunt disapproved of Serenity’s stinginess, but it was better than nothing. A monthly income of around a thousand dollars was preferable to having no income at all.

The rent money would be used for Old Mr. and Mrs. Hunt’s expenses anyway.

“I didn’t want to worry you. Seren and I have always managed to get through everything on our own,” Liberty stated, her words hinting at a deeper meaning.

Old Mr. Hunt seemed oblivious to this nuance and continued to ask concerned questions before saying, “It was Serenity who asked your grandmother, Noah, and me to come into town to help you.”

Liberty assumed they were there to assist her with the breakfast diner and declined their offer. “There’s no need for that. I’ll be discharged from the hospital soon, and I have staff.”

“I’m watching the store. I don’t need your help. You’re old now, so you can retire quietly at home.”

“We’re not here to assist at your breakfast diner. Your former in-laws keep bothering you, so Serenity asked us to help keep them at bay.”

Old Mr. Hunt elaborated, “We just arrived today and located the place the Brown family rented. We stopped them from leaving the house and gave them a stern talking-to. We had quite a fight before coming to see you. Liberty, just concentrate on recovering. Your grandmother and I will handle those people.”

“As long as your grandmother and I lie down in front of their house, shouting for the neighbors to come watch the spectacle, with Noah taking pictures, I assure you they won’t even think about leaving the house, let alone bothering you.”

Liberty was left speechless.
