Married at First Sight Chapter 1472

Chapter 1472
Mrs. Lewis noticed the absence of fresh flower bouquets and fruit baskets in the ward, fully believing Liberty’s account of the situation.
She thought, ‘Did that boy really not come to see Liberty? But he did admit to being here to visit her.’
Yet, Liberty mentioned she hadn’t seen him.
This left only one explanation—her son had come but didn’t enter the ward.
That was why Liberty hadn’t seen him.
Ultimately, the issue lay with her son.
“He was already at the hospital and on the same floor. Why didn’t he come to see you?” Mrs. Lewis asked, feigning ignorance.
Liberty smiled and remained silent.
Duncan and Liberty crossed paths frequently, primarily when he visited her store for breakfast.
He had been a great help to her, but only because she was Zachary’s sister-in-law.
Mrs. Lewis glanced at Sonny, who was eating alone, and said, “I won’t keep you any longer, Liberty. You should continue feeding Sonny. I need to visit a friend now.”
“Of course.”
Liberty got out of bed and insisted on seeing Mrs. Lewis out.
Seeing that Liberty could move freely, Mrs. Lewis didn’t object any further. The two exited the ward together.
“Take care, Mrs. Lewis.”
Liberty stood at the door, watching Mrs. Lewis walk away.
Mrs. Lewis hurried off.
“Did Mr. Lewis stop by?” Liberty inquired of the bodyguard.
He replied candidly, “Yes. He was here for about twenty minutes but didn’t enter. He also asked us not to tell you. He just stood by the door for twenty minutes before leaving.”
Liberty hummed in response. She didn’t understand why Duncan had come without entering her ward.
Did he genuinely come to the hospital to see her?
Liberty felt a

She felt a bit uneasy as she considered Mrs. Lewis’s implications. Mrs. Lewis seemed to misunderstand the situation and hinted at the possibility of Liberty having a relationship with Duncan.

When Liberty returned to the room, she noticed her son had finished eating. She intended to clean up the dishes, but Mrs. Lane rushed in to take care of it instead. Liberty set her son down on the floor to let him wander and sat back on the bed. She retrieved her phone from the bedside table drawer and sent a message to her sister.

[Seren, are you on your lunch break?]

Serenity replied, [I’m watching the store, so I can’t take a break. Have you and Sonny eaten?]

[Sonny just finished eating. He’s a slow eater.]

[It’s fine if children eat slowly. Sonny is already very smart to eat by himself. I’ve seen many three- and four-year-olds who still need their parents to feed them.]

Serenity believed her nephew was exceptional.

[Seren, I have something to tell you. Mr. Lewis came by earlier but didn’t enter the ward. Your bodyguard mentioned he stood outside my room for twenty minutes before leaving, and he happened to run into his mother on his way out.]

[Mrs. Lewis didn’t come to see me. A friend of hers was hospitalized on the same floor, so she stopped by to visit. However, she was actually dropping me a hint. Why do I get the feeling she thinks I’m pining for her son?]

Liberty confided in her sister, [I’ve never thought of Mr. Lewis that way. He only helped me because of Zachary, but Mrs. Lewis seems to believe there’s something between us and hinted at it. She mentioned that Mr. Lewis is very busy, that time is precious to him, and that he earns a lot of money every minute.]
