Married at First Sight Chapter 1465

Chapter 1465
Serenity was alone in the bookstore when she heard footsteps and looked up, surprised to see Callum.
As she got up and stepped out from behind the cashier’s desk, she asked, “Callum, what happened to you? Your lip and face are swollen. Did you get into a fight? Who did you fight? Did you lose? If you can’t win a fight, you should have asked me for help.”
Callum felt embarrassed as Serenity bombarded him with questions.
Did he really need his sister-in-law to assist him in a fight?
He was far more skilled than she was.
“Serenity, you have to help me this time.”
“Of course! How dare someone beat up my brother-in-law like that? Even if you can handle it, I can’t. Tell me who did this to you, and I’ll make sure they pay.”
Serenity said as she dragged a stool over and positioned it behind Callum. “Sit down and tell me everything slowly. Would you like some water?”
“I haven’t fought anyone in a long time. I was just thinking about working out,” Callum replied.
Serenity went to pour him some water.
As Callum watched his sister-in-law and heard her concerned words, he realized she was genuinely excited.
“Serenity, I didn’t actually fight with anyone,” Callum clarified.
If he had lost a fight, he would have needed to ask his brothers for help. Although his sister-in-law knew a few moves, they were flashy but ineffective against men.
Serenity returned with a cup of warm water, handing it to him before pulling a stool over to sit in front of him. She looked at him with her beautiful eyes and asked earnestly, “So, what really happened?”
“Don’t worry; I’ll help you if I can. Not just this time—if you ever feel bullied in the future and need assistance, you can always come to me.”

“Don’t be afraid; my brother has my back,” she reassured. Serenity took on the role of an elder sister-in-law, ready to defend her brother-in-law whenever he faced bullying. Rowan, being the clever one, immediately bonded with her upon their first meeting. He always believed that Zachary was obedient to Serenity, so he quickly sought her out, knowing he could turn to her whenever he was mistreated.

Callum’s face seemed to redden even more. Faced with his sister-in-law’s concerned yet inquisitive expression, he questioned whether he had made the right decision in confiding in her. However, remembering Camryn’s reaction and considering the relationship between Serenity and Camryn, he felt reassured that he had chosen wisely.

Callum resolved to inform Serenity about the gossip; even if he didn’t tell her, his brother would eventually share it when he found out. After drinking half a cup of warm water, he gathered his courage and said, “Serenity, I made a mistake—a significant one, and I’m at a loss about what to do. I believe only you can help me with this.”

“You made a mistake? A significant one?” Serenity’s demeanor shifted from curiosity to concern. She asked cautiously, “You didn’t kill someone, start a fire, or rob anyone, did you?”

“How could I? The Yorks only conduct honest business. We would never do anything like that,” he replied.

“Then what mistake did you make? Did you sign the wrong contract and end up costing the company hundreds of millions?”

Callum shook his head.

“Then please tell me what it is. I’ll wait for you to share before I say anything. The more I guess, the more anxious I become. Callum, I must warn you in advance that I won’t be able to help you if your mistake lands you in jail.”

One must have principles when assisting others, and

Callum was at a loss for words.

“Serenity, I just kissed Camryn. Am I going to jail for that?”

Serenity replied, “Y–you… kissed Camryn?”

She was curious about the extent of Callum and Camryn’s relationship and was surprised to learn that they had kissed. Serenity admired how quickly they were moving forward.

In contrast, she and Zachary had obtained their marriage license first to become legally married, and they only became intimate after a significant period of time.
