Married at First Sight Chapter 1456

Chapter 1456
Jasmine smiled. “It’s fine, as long as I’m sober. I can take you to City Hall after I kidnap you while you’re half-conscious. Once we get our marriage license, you’ll be mine, and there will be no escaping.”
Josh replied, “I won’t run away; I’m eager to be bound to you for life. I’ll support you always and provide you with shelter. All the money I make will be for you to spend.”
“Mr. Bucham, you’re making a toast while sweet-talking each other. You should consider the feelings of bachelors like us.”
Callum smiled and joked as he overheard the affectionate exchange between Jasmine and Josh.
Josh clinked glasses with him and responded with a grin, “You’re not far behind.”
He glanced at Camryn, who was quietly seated next to Callum.
Although Camryn couldn’t see Josh, she sensed his gaze. While facing Josh and Jasmine, she searched for her glass and raised it in their direction.
“Mr. Bucham, Jasmine, I wish you both a long life together.”
Jasmine smiled and clinked glasses with her. “Thank you, Camryn.”
Camryn beamed.
Although she didn’t want to come with Callum, he had convinced her to join him.
Upon arrival, she could feel the strange stares from many people and occasionally heard whispers around her.
Camryn had come with Callum; those who whispered about her punishing her family due to a sense of justice even made sarcastic comments behind her back about her newfound righteousness. They suggested it was because she had found a supporter and had risen to prominence.
Nevertheless, Camryn faced them with composure.
She didn’t believe she had done anything wrong.
Her mother and uncle had conspired to murder her father. Shouldn’t she hold them accountable?
Did her father deserve to die?
Not only—

Did they harm her father? Furthermore, her mother also wished to kill her. Camryn felt no conflict about this situation; perhaps the pain inflicted by her mother and uncle over the past two decades had left her emotionally detached. With no love for them, she was unbothered by the familial ties when she sued them for her father’s death.

The lively engagement party wrapped up late at night. Josh had arranged for the guests who traveled from afar to stay at the Wiltspoon Hotel, covering all expenses.

After Josh and his driver dropped the Soxes off at home, they went upstairs to rest, leaving Jasmine to keep him company. He mentioned that he had drunk too much and was very thirsty, so he asked for water.

Jasmine poured him some warm water, and he kept having one glass after another, showing no intention of leaving. Jasmine dozed off several times but urged him, “Josh, how many more glasses of water do you want? It’s past midnight; you should get some rest. Didn’t you say we’d go get our marriage license tomorrow? We’ll only be able to wake up early if we turn in early. I’ll meet you at the entrance of City Hall at 9:10 am. If you’re late, I’ll postpone it indefinitely.”

“Jas, we’re engaged now. Everyone in Wiltspoon knows it,” Josh replied.

He gazed deeply at Jasmine, who understood the unspoken meaning behind his look. Jasmine refilled his glass, then set it down firmly in front of him. Sitting beside him, she playfully twisted his ear and said, “Don’t think about it. Wait until our wedding night.”

Josh hugged her and said, “Jasmine, Jazzy, dear, I’ll just hold you until I fall asleep, and I won’t overstep any boundaries. I’m not used to having a woman around, so let me practice and get accustomed to it so I won’t be shy on our wedding night.”

Jasmine replied with amusement, “You’re the last person who would be shy.”

“You often share advice with Mr. York about love—clearly, you have a lot of experience,” she said.

Josh hugged her tightly before releasing her. His love for her meant he would respect her boundaries. Though she appeared cheeky, she was quite conservative at heart.

“I was just teasing,” she replied.

Josh affectionately pinched her lovely face before standing up. With a hint of reluctance, he said, “I’m heading out now. You should try to get some rest. Good night.”
